 I agree with you. lost my boy Charlie 3 months ago and he was better than people !  you know what they say if you lock your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car over night, who is going to be happy to see you in the AM when you open the trunk?  keep up what your doing and think about your dog all the time.  they are family members as much as people are !!!      P.S.  I'm a Brooklyn guy too.  His liver enzymes have been steadily going up this year. So my vet started him on denamarin. It didn't do anything so she had him get an ultrasound. The ultrasound didn't show anything abnormal but said there's a chance something was missed cause he's a bigger dog so they said try antibiotics for 3 weeks and at that point if they continue to go up do a biopsy.  I didn't do that yet instead sought another opinion for another vet I go to and she said try denamarin again and switch to a liver diet and her  we are. 

Last might he was just staring at up when we hot home from a walk. His Appetite the last 2 days has been not great

 I grew up with Boston Terrier's and my mom had 2 later in life.

They were treated like royalty and gave us unconditional love.

Screw the haters and hope your dog makes a full recovery.
