This first game of the series is probably one of the most important games of the year for the Padres.
Not only do they have Snell finally starting to get into ace form, they are righting a wrongs against this brewers team. They got swept against them last time as we know and at home. Now the best way to see what kind of team we really have in San Diego, is to go up against a team that owned us this year so far.
Im not only looking for tonight’s win, but will be betting for the series each game.
if San Diego is the best team in baseball, right now we are, then they take this series.
last years Padres won the first leg of the series too many times for me to count or try to remember and I’m going to be lazy and not look up the numbers because I just know they are good. If you don’t believe me chip in here and put them in for everyone to see…
basically even money we get today with a hot team!
I hate the angle of revenge factor, which is one of the great myths of betting sports, but it does apply here. I see some pros are touting that as the angle, But the real thing is that if Snell is the best lefty in baseball( I believe he is), today he shows up huge in a game they really really need for the overall outlook of the year.
statement game of the season for the Padres as of now and I’m with the friars!!!

I would be interested to see a split on that. righty-curve, lefty curve. Brewers are starting only 1 left handed hitter (other than Woodruff) so they probably won't see many curves. Just curious.

Line makes absolutely no sense. This means one thing only Brewers win this some how.
Yes it does. Woodruff has 8 straight quality starts and only 1 has been scored below my rating for Snell. The line makes sense if you go deep enough. My power ratings on tonight's game = Padres 111.2, Brewers 112.7. Way too close for me, NO PLAY.

crystal ball leans home brew, home wins/series need to have consistency if you're serious about contending, brewers may catch a san diego team all partied out from winning nine games with three consecutive home series sweeps, no play lean 'ruff

Rays fan here. Very disappointed with Snell leaving. Been trying to keep up with him. I believe he pitched good his last time out but seems like he'd been having the same problems as in Tampa, bouts of wildness, high pitch counts. This guy ever gets it all together, he could certainly be the best pitcher in the game, no doubting the potential. I figured the Padres saw how he tamed Dodger hitters in the series and realized he was just what the doctor ordered. Anyhow, continued success, east coast so don't get to see much of the West coast teams. And FYI, the Rays have won 11 in a row and are now in 1st place in what may be the toughest division in baseball. Maybe we'll see you in October. Go Blake!

No one is better than the Rays when it comes to money, releasing big names but replacing them with "lower budget" talent. They continue to compete with teams who have 2-3 times their payroll.

I have to agree with you booger flickers on that about the Rays. They have a payroll of a few pounds of deli meat and still compete year after year with the Junkies and Red Baron pizzas
