Watching last night's game looked like the nail in the coffin for the A's. I thought that was the definitive closing to their season. But they have a chance to answer the call with today's afternoon game. They have been playing terribly the 2nd half of the season, tied for the worst record in the MLB over that stretch. The A's can respond one of two ways after last nights exclamation point added emphasis to their horrific collapse. They will either lay down and continue to make excuses for themselves and get swept by Texas, who has the worst record in the majors. Or they will come together as a team who knows what they're capable of and play their hearts out. Sonny Gray knows what he has to do and the hitters know they need to step up. A loss this afternoon would destroy any positive morale this team could muster in the future. Judging by the statements made by the A's players after last night's debacle, I think this team isn't ready to lay down. I expect them to come out firing, fighting for their season today. They know what's at stake, and I think reality hit them especially hard last night, sitting in that dugout and locker room watching the worst team in the MLB dance on their graves. With this said, put me down for Oakland -1.5 -135.
Good luck with your wagers.

Wanted to apologize for this post. I thought the A's had one last fight in them. Appears they're done for the year. Pretty hard to believe the magnitude of their collapse. Sorry fellas.
