Ok brothers,
This is the second of ten
postings on my “Ten Commandments Of Sports Wagering”. I will be as brief as possible in posting
this, and I am sure I will come across ‘cocky’ to some, but that is not my
intention. I am not cocky, but I am
extremely confident in my ability in this area, as I feel I have the years,
experience, track record, and success to validate that opinion, and I am not
going to try to hide that. I promise you
that for the 2% of you that absorb these rules, you will have less stress, lose
less when you lose, win more when you win, and profit every single season that
you indulge in sports wagering, ‘no if’s, and’s, or but’s about it’, but I’ll
also guarantee that 98 of 100 of you reading this will think “that makes sense”,
and within days go right back to doing things you’ve always done to fail/lose
money. The reason for this “commandment”
is so imperative to the sports bettor, and yet so simple. Just like winning most days, winning a higher
amount of weeks, almost every single month, and certainly every single season;
this is amazingly simple to do, and you are basically guaranteed of being
successful if you follow the right ground rules, and stop operating with blind aggression/desperation
as most everyone does in this game. I am
using my own personal verifiable Covers postings and record (below) for an illustration
of the points I will be making. Ok, on
the Commandment #2:
Sports Wagering
Commandment #2:
DON’T WORRY ABOUT LOSING DAYS, AND FOCUS ON
SUCCESSFUL WEEKS:
I have seen for many, many
years in Las Vegas Sports Books how guys would go big, or go broke on a daily
basis; over and over and over again. I
can’t even imagine the stress that would bring, and could not imagine myself
doing that for even a day, much less years.
I see this problem magnified even more here on Covers where guys will
trash teams, pitchers, position players because they lost that day. You can easily recognize the players that
rely, count on, and even need to win today by their emotional swings, up and
down, with the result of a single game, or day.
Personally speaking, whether I have $100, or $1500 on a game, I am
almost completely impervious to the result because I already knew how this
season will end for me before it started (I say ‘almost’ only because if you
asked me if I would prefer to win, or lose that game I would of course answer “Win”);
and that is very very good, only because like Sharps, Squares, Degenerates, I
do the same thing over and over and get the virtual same results every season,
just as you (every one of you reading this) virtually every season end up in
the relative same spot on an average basis.
Not sure who first said it, but “Insanity is doing the same thing over and
over and expecting a different result”. The
difference between the 2% winners, and the 98% losing players (though you would
be hard pressed to find someone on a Covers posting reporting a losing season,
lol) is that the 2% don’t want to change much about their results, but the 98%’ers
(losing players) think, promise, and commit to drastic changes every time they
get shellacked by the game.
