So 8 series and 7 of them have been 2 game sweeps.
The winner of the 3 vs 6 matchup plays the 2 seed. And the winner of the 4 vs 5 matchup plays the 1 seed. This is regardless of records and the reasoning behind this was so that the top seed would not face the divisional winner (3 seed) in the divisional round, they would only face the 4/5 seed one of the wildcards.
Also, keep in mind, no ghost runners in the playoffs. All extra innings are played straight up no zombie runners on 2nd base. Couple years ago Cleveland/Tampa Bay went 15 scoreless before solo walk off and Houston Seattle went 18 scoreless before Houston go ahead solo 1-0 finals in both

NL division winners have not won a playoff series since this format took place
Yes, and this trend could continue, much to the delight of Mets fans
Even though Milwaukee had their way in the season series 5-1 against the Mets this season, they played the first and last series against each other, but I got to believe at some point Peralta will implode and the Mets take game 1 even with severino

Game 1 winner is 88% at taking game 2 and advancing. 14 out of 16!

We're going to find out in the next few days if this continues. I think the no brainers to win Game 2 are the Padres and Mets. Braves and Brewers look dead.

In the 2020 Covid year, they had the abbreviated 60 game season and 8 teams in each league matched up for 8 of these best of 3 series as well, but I disregard that season completely because there were no crowds and neutral fields. Although the Houston Astros went to the LCS and forced a game 7 against Tampa Bay with a losing record of 29-31.
