Det v Tex opened at 125.  now is up to 140 at some places.
I was going to take the Tigers. I think I still will but is a good play?  When the line moves like is it good or bad

I always scratch my head when I see questions like this... if you thought the Tigers were going to win at -125.... won't they still win the game at -140 and -200 and -250?

If you felt the tigers would win this at -125... why all of a sudden do you think the Ragers will win now?? cause the line moved? EXACTLY HOW VEGAS WANTS PEOPLE TO THINK

If you think Tigers will win... TAKE THE TIGERS!

The question isn't whether they will still win the question is at those prices, is it still a valued play?

-125, of course, is a whole lot different than -250.

Obviously I'm taking the Tigers I was just wondering if the line movement meant any thing in particular

Don't you think a big line jump like that would make people jump on the Tigers?  Meaning, if you were looking at it that way, Vegas could be trapping the bettor.  I have seen countless examples of lines jumping in favor of one team and that team going out and laying a dud.  Best of luck with your wagers.

If the Tigers are going to win WHERE IS THE VALUE IN TAKING THE TEAM NOW YOU FELT WASN'T GOING TO WIN IN THE FIRST PLACE?!

Best of luck with your wager, but all you need to do is read the picks in this forum to see that the "public" is not on the Rangers.

Point me to where I ever said I was taking the Rangers or saw value in them.

For me, it is all about line v consensus - if the Rangers were, for example, +120 and only drawing in 25% of the action, then yes, I would be on them. Because price (obviously) does effect value.

Got it?

Of course there is no guarantee that Detroit will win, they could lose 6-2 and I wouldn't be surprised. Some days the books lose + the public wins, that's just the way it is. Good luck.
