O;s 1st 5 not counting when they have already won this bet is crap but i guess you could say same thing about a total not counting when the over could've already hit and game was called early

First-Half Wagers (5 innings):

  1. All wagers on baseball first halfs (5 innings) will be decided on the basis of the score at the end of five full innings.

  2. If a game does not go five full innings, all first-half wagers (5 innings) will be canceled.

  3. Once 5 full innings have been completed, all wagers on the first half (5 innings) will stand.

Just going by 5Dimes rules...

All regular season and exhibition baseball games are considered official after 5 innings of play (4½ if the home team is winning).

Ok, never mind, you were right...

First 5 inning lines are graded at the end of the 5th inning.  All 5 inning wagers have action at that time, regardless whether the game is completed.  The following propositions have action at the time they occur, regardless whether the game is completed or official: 1st 5 inning wagers, team to score first, 1st inning wagers or any wager involving a team or player to achieve an outcome first.

Not all books have same rules I guess, but most of books is 5 full innings. I guess 5dimes is unique :)

thats what umpire CC Jim Joyce said... he could give 2 sh1ts about being positive for viewers and somebodys jobs... his job is to get the baseball game right...

They probably didn't good information with the radars etc like people with internet lol. 30-40mins was probably an estimate timeframe. Nothing wrong about that and it doesn't make them "idiots" lol.

so you mean there no internet access at Camden Yards? you and me can look up radar situation anytime but the umpiring crew at MLB game cannot? and its not like this came at a huge surprise... everyone knew thunderstorm is coming and they had the staff ready not only for putting the tarp on but also for looking at radar and make a call on the delay...
30-40 minutes is a pretty fukking weak call for an ump with 26 years of experience in this situation... actually it does make his kinda look stupid... you should keep your mouth shut if you have no idea...

I guess it true. Stupid rule in my opinion

From their website
The game must go at least 9 innings of play (or 8.5 if the home team is ahead) for bets to have action, otherwise bets are void unless a winning market has already been established. The only exception being when a Mercy Rule is called because one team is in an unassailable lead, in which case bets stand. In the event of a tie bets are void.
