Braves are 11-0 in their last 11 home games.... Everyone seems to be cray about Dan Haren's last-out win over Angels--but he was miserable the five games previous, losing them all. (Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then.) Of course, the Braves' starter, Mike Minor, has been a train-wreck lately, too. Still, I think odds favoring Braves (-126) might be a tell.
Since I live inSoCal, I pay partic attention to locals, and I have to smirk at C.J. Wilson being -200 at home vs. Phils tonight--and I don't even know how Phillies have been doin' ately. But CJ has been downright Double-A the last month--just hideous. (I'd suggest he focus more on pitching than his nasty TV ads.)
Plus, the Halos have gone majorly south since they dropped 3 of 4 to the Dodgers. I can smell at least 1.5+ plus on Phillies, and I wouldn't touch Haren with a 10-foot-pole never mind buy his dandruff goop. Just saying.
P.S. Who else thinks Oakland and Lester are too much of a slam-dunk. Yes. he's been CyYoung-worthy since joining A's and even beat Royals twice since his move, but other guy on bump, Guthrie, ain't no bottom-feeder, just threw his first CG, and the Royals have won 8 in a row and are playing in their friendly confines--still miss Harry Caray! Can you smell a trap-ola?....
Stay thirsty, my friends! Remember, The Most Int. Man has never said, "My bad." (Maybe I will later tonight, but I got to give my two cents--I still have $3.26 on me--and hoping for more if my instincts come through!)

I agree wholeheartedly. The public is loving the Dodgers given how the Braves have played but they're night and day at home. They can still make you smack yourself for taking them at home but Haren is on autofade at the moment. But like you said, Minor has been a train-wreck. They gave him extra rest. He said it himself that he's been horrible. Maybe he just needed the extra rest.
Agree with Wilson as well. Was horrible before the DL and was horrible after. But the Phillies are throwing Jerome Williams out there and he has been just as bad. He gave up 10 runs with the Rangers in his last start and is now with Philly. He was also with the Astros as a reliever before that and held a 6.04 ERA in 26 games. I see this total at 8 and I get the Angels aren't hitting but this is the guy to face if you're a slumping offense. But it doesn't matter who they're facing because, although I'll take the Angels to win this one, that price for Wilson is a joke.
The A's and Lester have "earned" the right to be favorites here but that price is too high. I wouldn't look too far into Guthrie's CG considering it was against the DBacks trying to find their way without Goldy but if you don't walk 7 batters, the A's offense can't score all that much.
Good Luck tonight.

I agree wholeheartedly, Sparky, with your wholehearted agreement! I think it's a matter of picking the top 1 or 2 choices. Haren is even up to -240 now! Yes, you''re right, he's going against a batting practice pitcher, Jerome Williams, who you didn't mention also pitched several years with the Halos. The Angels know him like they know the Halos' Spirit Girls. Trout eats him alive.
When you mentioned the Overs at 8, I hadn't even considered that play. I mean, with Jerome and CJ on the bump, they may hit 8 before the 5th inning. Decisions, decisions.
My head tells me take the decent faves, the Braves; my sneaky side says the KC game is a classic trap--take the Royals. And now I'm thinkin' the Best Bet might by Halos Over 8. I just have to remember, "Greed is good--except when punting." Love your avatar, too! Looks realistic rather than Photo-shopped!

That's true! My bad--I'm not like the Most Int. Man for sure. It's my bad at least once a day. Good catch--though obv. Covers is not as up-to-date as I thought. Still, I shoulda realized Braves were now 11 and 1 in that sitch.
I'm still surprised Braves aren't now 12 and 0 considering they were throwing Teheran against journeyman Correia. I'm thinking Atlanta let down when Correia took over for Haren. Heck, Correia had 3 k's in the first 3 innings, and that's about his average for an entire game. Stuff like this will happen when a team hasn't seen a chucker before--or at least for a while.
