That wouldn't result in a -1 play... if you win by 2, the plays will pretty much offset, if you lose by 1 you'll lose both plays whereas a -1 would give you a push

ok ignore what i said, i did the scenarios in my head, but seems like a -1 doesn't equate to a -1.5 + ML... am i missing something?

Ok first you have to bet on the RL. Say you bet 100 to win 125. You then bet whatever it takes on the ML so that you win 100. This way if they win by 1 you win the 100 but lose the RL resulting in a push. If you win the RL you win both bets. If the team loses they both lose

The ML bet is ML odds divided by the RL yield for a $1 bet.
 
This formula was posted in the past for getting a -1 Run Line:
 
Say the Money line is -190
 
Take 100/190 = 0.53
take the 0.53 and add 1  = 1.53
then take the 1.53 and divide it again..   100/1.53 = 65.39
now 65.39 is what you are going to risk on the ML... what ever the payout of that, you take that and risk it on the RL
and thats how you get the -1 RL
