The line on the Braves/Pirates today is -270/+240.
When I look at what Covers is showing, it's got 1.36 and 3.25.
What does the 1.36 and 3.25 mean? I am clueless. Can someone explain this to me?

Decimal odds: 2.00 represents -100.
The 3.25 is equivalent to +225 American odds, the 3.25 represents basically the stake plus the winnings. ($100+$225). Whereas with American odds +225 is the winnings only.
1.36 is equivalent to -278. Again the stake plus the winnings. At -278, A $100 will return $136 (stake + winnings).
That's probablt clear as mud, but hope it helps a little.

@svac
I see, thanks for the explanation. So anything under 2 is chalk? Correct? I like -270 & +240 way better. Just from years of doing it that way.

After giving this some thought, I've been betting sports since 1990.
This new system of presenting the lines is a way for the sportsbooks to walk away from Nickle juice on baseball without admitting it. If you notice, exactly ZERO of these lines are Nickle juice.
