Been watching baseball casually for the last 10 years or so but pretty heavily for the last 5 years. But looking for insight from the seasoned enthusiasts of the sport. What metrics do you use to determine how good a pitcher is or how good of a season he’s having? Is ERA really the best indicator or are there major flaws in using ERA in determining the success of a pitcher? Is WHIP a better indicator?
Any thoughtful insight would be appreciated.
