Hello,
First, I would like to tell I'm a Marlin fan so that's an objective pick.
My Pick for the World Series : Pittsburgh Pirates
Very regular this year with a good record in the BEST division in all baseball. They have a good balanced roster with pitchers and batters (top to bottom) They have a solid home field and a good playoffs/Wild Card situation experience last years.
They will probably host the NL Wild Card game against the Chicago Cubs. They have a revenge to take against this team with the poor series last week.
Gerritt Cole will be on the mound against the Cubs :
VS Cubs : 7-1 ERA 2.88 WHIP 1.10 AVG 0.250 K/BB = 6.27
This is kind of number you want to see for a pitcher who starts a wild card game.
Then, they will play against the St Louis Cardinals without home field advantage. On the paper, Cardinals are the best team this year but only on the paper. Watch the numbers for the "BIG 3" pitchers of the Pirates :
Gerritt Cole :
VS Cardinals :4-3 ERA 2.91 WHIP 1.16 AVG 0.227 K/BB = 2.38
VS Cardinals @ Busch : 1-3 ERA 3.16 WHIP 1.32 AVG 0.235 K/BB = 1.91
Francisco Liriano :
VS Cardinals : 5-2 ERA 2.58 WHIP 1.07 AVG 0.193 K/BB = 2.33
VS Cardinals @ Busch : 3-0 ERA 1.97 WHIP 0.97 AVG 0.176 K/BB = 1.92
AJ Burnett :
VS Cardinals : 9-6 ERA 3.70 WHIP 1.25 AVG 0.232 K/BB = 2.10
VS Cardinals @ Busch : 2-2 ERA 7.26 WHIP 1.61 AVG 0.315 K/BB = 2.60
They have all 3 a positive record against the Cardinals with a maximum ERA of 3.70.
If I'm right and if they beat the Cardinals, they will probably play against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

VS Dodgers : 4-0 ERA 2.73 WHIP 1.15 AVG 0.232 K/BB = 4.12
VS Dodgers @ LAD Stadium : 2-0 ERA 1.42 WHIP 1.11 AVG 0.217 K/BB = 4.25
AJ Burnett :
VS Dodgers : 4-5 ERA 3.77 WHIP 1.34 AVG 0.236 K/BB = 2.11
VS Dodgers @ LAD Stadium : 1-4 ERA 3.86 WHIP 1.47 K/BB = 1.95
We have 2 pitchers undefeated against the Dodger team !
I know that a rotation is not only 2-3 pitchers but these have impressive numbers and the Pirates can use a solid bullpen too.
I don't know who will win the AL Pennant but the two favorites (KC and TOR) aren't good enough to beat this Pirates team on a 7 games series.... They have a 13-7 record in interleague this season, best record in the NL.
