Is it because the -300 favorites do not win when you take them? The bull pens seems to be imploding more often than not? Erros are on the rise? Late inning comebacks or runs to ruin a total? Perceived poor managing by the skippers? I would like some candid, sincere feed back That does not mean someone bitching about a wager that they lost I mean big picture here not isolated incidents or a few plays that cost one money

Seriously? Have you not been watching how bad this sport has gotten year after year? The talent has continued to be diluted for many years. I don’t know how old you are, but I assure you this is not MLB. And, no, it’s not about losing bets. I stopped betting on this sport way back when they introduced the BS analytics to the game. Every night in multiple starting lineups, you have guys who can’t hit .200 and pitchers with ERAs over 6.00 and relievers who cannot come in and get 3 outs without blowing the lead. This used to be unheard of in MLB. Strikeout records get shattered year after year. Here’s some things the idiot Commissioner has done to try to make these guys look presentable: 1) Juiced Balls 2)Ghost runners 3)Single-A relief pitchers 4) Banning shifts next year 5)Bigger bases next year 6)Position players pitching 7)Official scorers grading errors as hits….What’s next, banning breaking balls? How much help do these players need? Yet, they struggle to hit .220. Other than all that, I can see why you wonder why people complain about the sport.

DOB 4/10/72 I have been watching, attending(started playing them too all in 1978) I disagree with a lot of what you said but respect and thank you for your input. The most alarming thing I have seen when capping games this season is team batting averages. If you have access and the time I implore people to go look at them. Spoiler alert they are shocking low, even the best teams. Go look it is insane

It's not just MLB threads, the whining is everywhere. Probably directly related the to pussification of our society in general - less dudes acting like grown men and more dudes acting like whiny little girls.
God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy.

I got you by over 20 years. I’ve probably seen 80% of the HOF players perform in person. I played through my senior year in college. It pains me to see how this sport has deteriorated. I appreciate the honest response. I’ve always respected your threads and posts.

Because there are a lot of degenerate gamblers out there who place action on ever damn game in every damn sport. And then they chase another bet when their original bets are losing and end up losing more. Most of them don’t know a damn thing about baseball and probably never even played the game past little league.

Sports betting has doubled since 2021. Which means the bookmakers are making money and bettors are losing money. I lost on too many games that looked very suspicious. I come to this forum now again to see if I made the right decision in stopping betting on sports. I see guys are losing money today and posting about suspicious games, I made the right decision.

Most players trying for the homerun instead of trying to get on base especially with the ridiculous shifts.
If you got this far, you should be able to hit the ball to the opposite field and beat shifts. Another reason why these guys don’t belong, but there’s nothing better out there.

Hit a big over bet on the Dodgers/Nats yesterday, got hosed today on SD Padres ML blowing a save against the lowly Tigers. Meh. Apathy is a skill sometimes lol. Only thing that will make my blood boil is a blown call that decides the entire game, other than that you won’t see me whining. When talking about futures in any sport, always amazed (in and outside of this forum) who base a prediction on “I don’t root for players who once played for my team’s rival.” If you’re arguing about betting futures, cite some evidence to back up your point. I feel like 60% of people out there can’t cite 3-5 factual reasons for each bet. That’s why I come here, a lot of you can cite facts and evidence - cheers to you guys!

Oh the other thing that will bother me is if I do something stupid, like me blowing a few hundo on online roulette when I was acting a fool and being the biggest drunken idiot/jerk of the year. Wish I could take that day back and redo it

Back to OP’s question though, I think the answer is a lot of the whiners fail to realize and adjust to the numerous stages of the season. The MLB season as a whole usually has at least 4-6 stages, some of them have so much volatility I just stay away. Then each team has numerous stages too - take the Angels, they’ve had at least 4-5 stages so far already. (Remember when they were in first place?)
