BP's have been sketchy lately for both teams, and knowing the Joba isn't active today...makes this a perfect 5IP. Under and Yanks ML and RL for 5IP. The only way the yanks aren't winning is if washburn shuts them down. Even in a low scoring affair...the yanks should take the early lead.

Yanks only hit .251 at home vs LHP
M's hit .236 on the road vs RHP

mariners have the bats to win this game but damn the whole forum is on the yanks....this situation reminds me of time when the mavericks were playing the bobcats in dallas and the consensus was like 88% on the mavs and they were a 4.5pt fav at home and a guy named VEGASTRAPBUSTER was telling everyone on the forum to look out because something smells fishy... anyhow the mavs lost the game and the whole covers.com was thrown into a tailspin with mavs rally threads that had about 9000 views. i was one of the lone bobcats backers on here and i could do nothing but laugh. anyway this presents the same type of situation and i get a sense of dejivous or however you spell it. JUST WATCH OUT!!!!!

for me this situation reminds the latest Matsuzaka start where people were trying hard to find the reason to take +200 ml against boston and their winning streak... boston blew KC the hell out

Too much juice combined with abysmal past performances vs. washburn make this a no play for me and believe me I am dying to pull the trigger on the Yanks RL (I was on it yesterday).
I think the Tigers RL is a better deal with a team that is the only team scoring more than the Yankees lately.
Detroit Rl
Fla 1st game ML
Houstom ML
for me so far
good luck

Why not the M's....? All I have to say is that Morrison will not win them all. In this one, a situational sweep play (east coast/west coast) is overpowered by sheer stats + what factor to you place on a (finally) streaking team.
I say, why not the Yanks...
SP Washburn got shelled in his last road outing going 2.1 innings, giving up 12 hits and 9 ER's. Furthermore, in his last 3, his ERA is 12.82 with 24 hits in 13.1 innings. Oh yeah, and he's going on 3 days rest today against a SURGING Yankees line up.
Washburns ERA is 6.99 vs. Wang's 3.51. Couple that with the basement batting numbers that the M's put up this year should lean NYY.
M's are 3-13 in last 16 vs. RHP and lost 12 of 13 on the road. On the other hand, Yanks are finally grooving it at the plate. Wang can have a sh!t outing and Yanks will still get more runs in than the lowly M's.
M's are worst team in the AL.
Wang's best stats this year are during day games.
How about NYY's team over 5 runs and NYY - 1/2 for 1st 5.

I'm with you Troyes...The heavy fav. line is what it is for a reason. Maybe the makers want Joe Public to overcap and go against the juice train, which lures quit abit of chasers.
