i believe baserunners must stay within the baseline ,cardinal baserunner was obstructed when he tried to stand up and run ,out of the baseline,he should have been placed back at 3rd base.

Farrell really makes some head scratching in game moves at times. I would love to hear his reasoning on not setting up a DP.

It was an inadvertent (unintentional) obstruction.  Hate to see the game end that way but it is the right call.  You usually don't see this at 3rd base.  During the regular season, you might see a runner rounding 1st and making contact with the first baseman.  Regardless of whether he is tagged out a second base, obstruction is called and he is awarded the base.  You could call it good acting by Craig to stumble in order to get that call (but there was contact).  Tough fought game by both sides.  Boston was not a guaranteed to win if it went the other way.

So Middlebrooks dives to save the ball and is on the ground...exactly how is he expected to not interfere?  This is the same play that happens dozens of times per year on a stolen base and a missed throw to 2nd base.  They NEVER call interference on it.  It was bullschitt in every possible way...and they need replay to fix this crap.

One of the absolute greatest defensive plays under pressure EVER by Pedroia, and they rob him.

baserunner should have been called out ,for running out of the baseline. i see it called all the time when runners are called out running from home to first base,this is no different Joyce Blew the call but THE LEAGUE ANNOUNCER SHILLS MCCARVER AND BUCK WOULD NEVER SAY OTHERWISE.

Hoopsync-you need to read the rule! The call was absolutely correct-it's the fielder that MUST yield to the base runner-the baseline has nothing to do with the call. Although freaky-it was correct!

Once again the UMPIRES are bigger than the game. 
Once again it's the UMPIRES who decide a WORLD SERIES GAME.

It's friggin pathetic. 

Put friggin sensors all over the fields and put 2 umpires in a fuking room with supercomputers. Let the computers and lasers call balls and strikes and we can move past the BLOWN CALLS by paid officials.

I am glad I placed my preseason wager on the Soxs to Win the AL pennant at 15:1 odds cashing $500! I did not know I had to play the Cards and Umpires all night. This is not over Bo Soxs won't lay down even the series tomorrow to all the haters while I still cash

I'm just glad I was able to get the Bo Soxs at 15:1 odds during preseason at Vegas to win the AL pennant cashing out really nice! I did not know I had to play the Umpires and Cards tonight! Taking the loss w/ pride as Clay takes the mound tomorrow and a pissed off offense! Go Soxs!

Middlebrrooks tripped him on purpose.  He looked to see where the ball was in left field, and when he saw the runner would score easily, then he raised he feet to trip the runner.  When that didn't work, he raised them again to trip the runner .

Red Sox fans are delusional about this call.

The Hawk was INCORRECT on this. Whilst bouncing back between Stanford/Oregon State-Cal/Washington and The Series, I swear I heard McCarver say the reliever was batting next. This morning I discovered it was Kosma, who hits like a pitcher....
