I absolutely hate 80's music. Nothing against anybody that does. It makes my skin crawl, because that's when music started to get all synthesized and fake. Because before the 80's, the technology just wasn't there to be able to fake it, you actually had to play your instruments and be able to sing.
It seems that folks ten or fifteen years younger than me, love 80's music, because that's what they remember when they were little kids (not teenagers). It's funny, because I love 70's music, the stuff that I listen to when I was a little kid. When I was was a teenager in the 80's I listened to heavy metal and classic rock...but as I got older, it turned into the Allman Brothers and the Grateful Dead.
220% totally freaking stupid of you too say..... I've been writing/ releasing/ and performing electronic music for 16 years now and I can PLAY EVERYTHING I WRITE WITH MY SYNTHS..... don't you for a second call IT FAKE.... did you know that Martin Gore (song writer for Depeche Mode) writes everything on acoustic guitar before putting it to Synth?????? Did you also know that Keyboards AND synthisized music has been around sience the late 60's... and really became promanent in the 70's? Alot of your "REAL" musicians from back in the day have been using synths and computers to their benifit for over 30 years now....
People like you piss me off so much with the whole " FAKE" lable you give us.....
you don't have to like it... but don't call us fake.... I can play Guitar and Bass just as good as i can write songs on my synths/computer.....

I know most people feel an attachment to the genre of music they grew up with. I walk down the street and see 50 yr old guys blasting CCR or the Doors from their garage while working on their Harley bikes..but I am in the 80s camp as well.
Not the REO speedwagon or Chicago or Ratt personally.
I prefer the techno that some dislike here and then the rap stuff like Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Fat Boys and also the industrial music which spilled over into the 90s.
Also keep in mind that techno/industrial really spanned the late 80s into the middle 90s..
So here are a few of my favs-
