I know I almost sent a twitter to him saying hey Spike meet the kettle. Seriously! Has anyone ever seen the movie Bamboozled? If there was ever a more racist and saterical movie please tell me. It is about the minstral shows were people dressed up in black face, danced, talked like they were slow, eat watermelon and fried chicken. Basically about as stereotypical as you could possibiliy be. Perhaps Spike is just made that he didn't think of it. Personally have NEVER been a Spike Lee fan and this is prime example why.

I like all of Tarantinos films, but to me it sometimes feels like he's entertaining himself more than us.
His strong point in early movies like 'Resevoir Dogs' and 'Pulp Fiction' was his dialogue. But lately something about his writing seems repetitive, to the point that a character in one movie reminds me of a character in a completely different movie.

haven't seen Django and will probably wait until it goes DVD BUT it DID win two Golden Globe awards for screenplay (Quentin Tarantino) and Best Supporting Actor (Christoph Waltz) which probably SHOCKED the Hollywood establishment because Tony Kushner for screenplay and esp Tommy Lee Jones for Best Supporting Actor were supposed to be the "Lox, Bagel and Cream Cheese" for Lincoln.
will be interesting to see what happens at the Oscars because Lincoln, ex for Daniel Day-Lewis, has been pretty much "stiffed" by the awards shows so far

To me Christoph Waltz should have won Best Supporting Actor. He was fantastic in Django. I enjoyed Tommy Lee Jones in Lincoln, but I don't think he had enough screen time to warrant winning the award. We'll see what happens at The Academy Awards. I believe Lincoln will at least win Best Picture, Director, Actor.

interesting point on "screen time" for Jones and I haven't seen Django so I can't really compare Waltz's roll to his BUT Jones as Thaddeus Stevens was one of the most impressive preformances I have seen from ANY actor in ANY movie in decades
and the award is "SUPPORTING" Actor so just because he isn't in every scene, I don't think that should be a big factor. that's why Sally Fields is up for Best SUPPORTING Actress instead of Best Actress
