the last scene and Sirling's closing narration in The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street says it all.....
"The film cuts to a nearby hilltop, where it is revealed that the mysterious "meteor" that had flown overhead is an alien spaceship. Its inhabitants, two alien observers, are watching the riot on Maple Street while using a device to manipulate the neighborhood's power. They comment on how easy it was to create paranoia and panic, concluding that the easiest way to conquer the Earth is to let the people of the Earth destroy themselves, one "Maple Street" at a time."
"The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices. To be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill, and suspicion can destroy, and the frightened, thoughtlesssearch for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own: for the children, and the children yet unborn. And the pity of it is that these things can not be confined to the Twilight Zone."

actually I will back track on some of the Showtime Outer Limits stories. some WERE pretty good originals or updated remakes of the old series with the first ever Showtime episode "The Sand Kings" with Beau Bridges being excellent.
btw, anyone else a Dr Who fan? most recent on BBC America with Christopher Eccleston as the 9th Doctor and David Tennant as the 10th were excellent BUT NOTHING beats the old BBC originals from 1963 through early 1981 that used to be shown on PBS here in the States. William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee were all excellent but NO ONE beats the 4th Doctor, Tom Baker before or since although 7th Doctor Sylvester McCoy played the part for great comedy as did Baker
I'm looking forward to the new "regeneration" coming this season on BBC America with Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor. be interested to see how he stacks up to his predecessors.

If you like the Twilight Zone episodes ..... you need to Google: " Twilight Zone pinball machine ". It was manufactured in 1993 by Bally and is based on the original television series Twilight Zone. The machine is considered by many pinball collectors and players as the greatest pinball machine ever made.I personally own this machine and absolutely love it ..... I don't see ever selling it. Odds are you will be hard pressed to find this machine in a gameroom or arcade ..... the majority of them are in the hands of collectors now. Ebay usually has them for sale .... that run between $3000 to $5000. If you haven't played this machine .... I strongly recommend that you do.
