I want an hour of my life back. Awful 1st episode.
Agree. And I love the show. Horrible how much time they had you watching Mike take apart a gas cap, over and over and over again. This was like that fly episode on Breaking Bad. One hour of next to nothing.

The confusing gas cap scene was eternal. Then another 10 minutes of Mike just staring out the window.

I missed the first 1/2 of the show and was forced to watch " Talking Saul " trying to find out WTF the gas cap was all about?....
I saw the whole show and still had a hard time figuring it out. Pretty obscure. A columnist who seemed to get it says that the note on his car saying " Don't " made Mike realize someone had bugged his car. So, he tore it apart and found the tracking device in the gas cap. Then, apparently, he got his friend to get a reverse tracking device he could put in the gas cap so he could track his adversaries. I'm guessing this is probably right, but they sure did make the viewer work to follow it.

i'm about three shwos in and i think it is as good as breaking bad. even more impressive since it's so hard to make a spin off show good. i understand why people wouldn't like it as much because the material isn't as interesting ior exciting as the breaking bad material.
also, just about every legal show on tv is embarrassingly unrealistic and ridiculous. rectify is the most realistic "legal show" (it wasn't really a legal show but that was the background for the show) ever to be on tv. better call saul is probably second. i think it's impressive when shows take the time and attend to the details to make them realistic.
