Good question.  Some DEA guy on the take?  Chicken guy?  Chicken guy probably knew that having those two around wasn't in his long-term best interests, and he's the one who green-lit Hank.

...was also a little bit funny when Hank (trauma multiple gunshot patient), was rolled in through the general admission front doors.

Writers had to make it work somehow.
