I watched it..Seems like something Stephen King woulda wrote.
I would have liked to seen more of the aftermath and not 3 yrs later.
They made it sound like the chain smokers were trying to be a constant reminder that something totally fuking crazy happened and that no one should forget.

Imho this has "HBO likes to cancel many, many shows without warning and no answers are given" written all over it.
Add in the fact that this is made by the same folks that made 'Lost', they'll say it was a character study and you shouldn't have expected to find out what happened to every body.
Besides, it's either God or Aliens..What else could it be?

I went to a website cause I've never seen it but might follow online and they said to not expect answers and revel in character study.
Walking Dead starts in Oct. and Mad Men can't get any g@yer in the last year.

I'm definitely into this.
Fire was the underlying theme of tonight's episode 5. "Doubt turns to fire and fire will turn you into ash", and then the GR lady that was stoned to death had her remains burned to ash to end the show. Did she receive the final deadly blows because she begged for mercy, thereby doubting her faith by speaking?
Are the GRs (white clad smokers) saving people or are they something that people need to be saved from?

Very intriguing, that theory makes a lot of sense.
I am looking forward to the finale, I just hope that the Colts/Broncos game is not a thriller or I'll have to catch the encore of The Leftovers after midnight.
