Been rewatching Soprano's on Demand recently and got to thinking.....
How much did Tony pull in per year? Here's my calculations as near as I can figure out:
Taxed: Bada Bing Revenue: $50K per year ( Keep in mind profits split between a number of owners as I'm pretty sure he wasn't the main owner, and Sil and Paulie etc all had a stake)
Barone Sanitation: $100K per year
Satriale's Pork Store: $30K per year (not too much money in the pork business)
Construction Business (ie The Esplanade, etc): $150K per year
Random other business ventures ie Webistics etc: $50K per year
Untaxed:
Protection Rackets: $50K a year
Gambling operations: $200k per year. Probably the biggest money maker. As TS once quoted "Football Season's coming up. It's our busiest time of the year!"
Cargo Hijacking/Robbery etc: $150K per year
Miscellaneous: $50K per year
Grand Total: $830K per year. About half of that untaxed......
That sounds about right.......I could see him pulling in upwards of $1.2-$1.5 million or so, but that number seems accurate.
Thoughts?

Sounds about right. I always thought the Family was much larger than they showed on the show, we only got to see the higher-ups and not really the true young guys/foot soldiers. I'd estimate between 1 to 2 million a year, I think your figures are probably pretty accurate.
Good post.

how can you ask a question like that about a fictional show?
Because it's a show that's grounded in reality, so the character could easily be real.
I don't get why people make useless comments like this in threads all the time? I'm not suggesting this thread is some high-brow discussion of anything important, but seriously, what's the point of making dumb snarky comments (which looking through your thread history seems to be your perogative on this site........no posting picks or discussion, just endless bashing of people). Just weird to me.

Bada Bing is owned by Sil. Tony would not see any envelopes from his legimate business, that is against Mafia protocol. The importance of "legimate" income would always be stressed between the boss and his capo's.The same way Tony would not profit from Chris and Adriana's club.
My take would be
Barone Sanitation: $200K + benefits per year (as a consultant)
Satriale's Pork Store: $40K per year (rental income, Tony owns the property)
Construction Business (ie The Esplanade, thru mainly no shows, I believe is quoted as being worth 1.5 mil, divided by 3 (Tony, Ralph/Vito, the family) over 5 years): $100K per year
Random other business ventures ie (Webistics, Pie-O-My purses, Chris' Movie): $50K per year
Property/Rental Income: $300,000
Untaxed:
Protection Rackets: $50K a year
Gambling operations: $250k per year
Cargo Hijacking/Robbery etc: $50K per year (high risk and little reward, would be limited to the odd job)
Grand Total: $1,040,000 per year.
