Whats the deal with the monster cables???? Guy at Circuit City says you have to have them to get a clearer picture?? ???
It's nothing more than a sales gimmick to get you to pay 4x more for a HDMI cable than you need to. Go to www.monoprice.com for all of your cabling needs. I've bought everything from ethernet cables, coax, hdmi, component, speaker stands, various wall outlets and other things and have saved 100s. Super fast shipping too.

Congrats Seahawk97...I just bought a 46" Panasonic 1080p TV today myself. Also purchased a sweet Yamah home theatre system to go with it, a PS3 (blue ray disc player included), etc..
They won't deliver/install everything until 6/15, but I'm pretty excited about the purchase. It was all definitely pretty pricey, but I know I'll be really happy with the decision. I too purchased a 4 year warranty, despite being somewhat reserved about doing so. Hopefully I'll never have to use it, but it does give me some peace of mind.
Congrats and enjoy

Just sit back boys and wait until Christmas. The prices will come down even more! That's what I'm waiting for...
You guys have to remember the original 42 inch Plasma when it first came out was $8,000.00 now the same price for the same model is $1499.99
It's going to come down under a grand... watch.
You are correct but with electronics they improve their models every year and prices drop until something better comes out which usually isn't long. Doesn't matter when you buy. Something better will be out a couple years from now. Just the way it is.

Yes Seahawk you are right... they do improve their models etc. But the first ever protocol was a 42 inch Plasma. That model was $8,000.00 now it's $1,499.99. Just name one electronic that was sold that high when it first came out... and decreased 3-4 years later that much?
The only thing I can think of that was a total rip off in 1989 was a Tandy 2500XL computer which I think was lower than a 386. The retail value was $2,499.00 and the computer didn't do sh#$.
But I've been patiently waiting to buy like 3 or 4 HD TV's for my house... and get them for 2 years financing at 0%. If the economy stays the same... Christmas last year had major giveaways... for whatever reason I priced out a few TV's from CircuitCity.com and actually they increased by $400-$600 after Christmas... which I thought was incredible. Because usually you hear a lot of BS about savings around Christmas. They jack up the retail rate... and then give you a discount but in all essence you aren't saving that much. But this past Christmas... you really did get some rock bottom prices out there. CircuitCity and BestBuy.com are the 2 best stores to shop at... from what I know.
