I think that Law & Order SVU is a very well done show

Mariska Hartigay is sexy as anything, Her Mom was Jane Mansfield married to some really rich guy from Europe. No wonder she's hot. Jane Mansfield sure was.

And Casey Novak   who plays the ADA on the show.

Does anyone recall on the show OZ in the earlier shows, when Christopher Meloni was ass raping this dude in prison on a regular basis in way to graphic visuals for me?
    It took me awhile to get those images out of my brain when watching SVU......Like the guy on the show now.

My all time favorite show.

Well written, never the same thing and they've done it for many years.

You guys are spot on with my thoughts exactly.........

Goren is great. Vincent D'nofrio (sp?) is a great under rated actor.

Golf, I love both those shows, but Criminal Intent might be a horses nose better. You're correct about how many years that they have kept it fresh.

I always like when they say at the beginning or end that the shows aren't based on anything real. I've seen so many episodes in which they follow a really bad "true life" news situation almost to a tee.

Too funny, but great great well done shows.

Y'know, I did not know that. Also never knew the circumstances surrounding Jayne Mansfield's death until I looked it up just now.



p.s. Remember "Trial By Jury"? That show was never given a chance.

Jerry Orbach one of the main characters on the show died. His character from the orginal L&O as Briscoe was a central part of the show therefore they kind of buried it. Also I think Hargitay is attractive and I wouldn't kick her out of bed, but so many times on the show they act like she's a 14 on a scale of 1-10, she's just not that hot. I would give her a 6 or 7 on the 10 scale.

Oh, I knew that, but considering how much turnover the original has had and it still keeps chugging along, you would've thought they'd give it a more of a chance to succeed. Also, not to knock Orbach, but Lenny wasn't exactly a big reason I watched the original (Angie Harmon, Carey Lowell, Elisabeth Rohm *schwing*).

If anyone ever took the time to look up Jerry Orbach's resume, they'd see tons of Broadway gigs, character acting, TV, etc.

and of course his great role on Law and Order.

I love it when people think he's crabby as a person.

Before Law and Order, evry other part that he ever did, his smile was bigger than anyone.

Briscoe (J.Orbach) has always been known in the acting community as one of the nicest guys on the planet.

Great guy, and very long resume.........

Did Paul Sorvino die?

Chris Noth's  partner  (pre Orbach) was that fat guy "hoss" Tony Dezugunda (sp?)....then Paul Sorvino, then Orbach.....

Do I have that correct?

I can't remember what happened to Paul Sorvino on the show, but he's still alive in real life. But yeah it was George Dzunda, then Paul and then Orbach. It's funny how people do associate characters that they played in a movie or on tv with who they really are. My mom and sister hated Mark Harmon after seeing him portray Ted Bundy. I know some people hate that guy Ben from Lost and there are ton over the years. I think one of the ones that is the most complete opposite was Carroll O'Connor, everyone thought he was a racist like Archie Bunker, but that was the furthest thing from the truth.

Oh yeah just a FYI, Elizabeth Rohm is on Heroes this season, looking better then ever. She was always my favorite on the original L&O, Alexandra Cabot was my favorite overall on SVU.

Jarrett, too funny. That Mark Harmon  Bundy thing creeped me out also.     He was wayyyy to good at it.

Other trivia, shit, I'm not looking this up, so no one fault me off the cuff.........

Mark Harmon played QB at UCLA and his Dad played QB at Michigan......

For the smart ass kids, it's 2:20am and it's too late to look it up, but I'm correct on at least one of them. Fun part of tyrivia isn't using your computer. Who can't do that......

If you want real Jerry Orbach trivia... Remember he appeared as a defense attorney on one of the early episodes before coming aboard as Briscoe? IMDB says his character's name was "Frank Lehrman".

I remember other actors appearing multiple times as different characters (after 20 seasons, it's pretty unavoidable), but this was rather unique.

SVU is a good show. The original Law and Order with Orbach and Waterson is great though...

Yeah the lady who plays the chief, Epatha Merkuson was a guest star in the first year or two before she took her roll as Chief Van Buren
