The Paper - Michael Keaton,Glenn Close, Randy Quaid etc

really good movie about 1 day in the life of a newspaper and  a murder. dont want to ruin it by telling about the plot but Keaton was really good in it, good drama. pretty good movie

worldcontrol, you're trying to point out njdevils as being juvenile for posting his thread a couple days early so nobody else steals it while you sound like a bigger baby whining about it.  Nobody else seemed to even notice, I know I didn't.  And now you're starting to fall into hustle_man mode of just keep repeating your silly argument until people give in and say you're right.
 
I personally like the one post thread so I can go through and scroll down quickly through it and see who liked what.  I read your movie posts as well.
 
If you don't like the short reviews in this thread, then go to rottentomatoes.com, there's plenty of wannabe movie windbags there who overthink movies and think their boring reviews are special that you can hang with.

You Dont Mess With The Zohan

Hysterical movie. if you dont like sterotypes and jokes like that then stay home. but this movie was hilarious from start to finish.

Sandler was hilarious, Rob Schneider, Nick Swardson, John Turturro

The part where he finally gets to cut the hair was hilarious

entertaining for the whole movie

Great movie. I can't believe I past this up for so long. Don't let the subtitles stop you from watching this if you haven't seen it yet. It made a lot of top ten lists for best movies of the decade.

Semi-funny. There were a few laugh out loud moments but overall I doubt I'd recommend it. (I'm a fan of his but I haven't seen Talladega Nights or Blades of Glory however). The love story between Maura Tierney and Woody Harrelson bogged the movie down at points although her boyfriend was pretty funny. This movie would have played better as an extended SNL skit.

I know it's been out for 3 years, although it was new to me. I had heard of it, just never went out of my way to see it. Definitely worth the 2 hours.Kind of an original idea for a horror movie. After watching it, I thought that there is some place in the world where shit like this might happen. That in itself, is messed up.Hot chicks with a good amount of nudity and some really creepy shit.  Not a bad combination. There are moments where you have to suspend disbelief, although it didn't take away from the movie all that much. Cool movie.

Hostel was hilrious to me. 1st off the women were hot.

 

Spoiler.... the part where the girls eye was hanging out and then they cut it so it wasnt hanging..i laughed my ass off at that.

 

good movie though good suspense/tension...the gore was comical to me though just because of the special effects

Charlie Wilson's War - I thought it was very good. Both informative and entertaining. Did an excellent job of infusing humor into serious subject matter. Great performances by both Tom Hanks and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

I actually liked this one better than the original. It picks up right were the first one ended. The script was much better and it tied everything in nicely. This series reminds me of the Saw series. Someone came up with an original idea and they keep expanding on the thought. I am adding a link if you want to watch it on your pc/laptop. The video is a bit grainy, but you do get used to it as the movie moves along. Also, choose the first one ( ' Watch Full, it's hosted by Megavideo.)

Yaaaaa, that was a bit far fetched.  Also, I was amused with the fact he had most of his fingers carved off with a chain saw, yet it didn't seem to slow him down all that much. He just pulled on that glove and was good to go.

i guess it was supposed to be suspenseful but it wasnt really. some good action scenes. i didnt hate it but i would not watch it again if im flipping around and it is on.
 
(is there a movie called the scissors?) in this thread i have commented on the Rock and The Paper...The Paper was much better which makes sense i guess

NJ, what about that last Chinese girl that was admittedly OK before getting her face mangled and eye out of socket? 

That movie just fricking blew...........

Good thread, great flick..so brutal and realistic that it was great.

Dances with Wolves... Yeah I know it is like 18 years old, but my wife rented it this weekend.  It is a 3:00 movie but very good.
 
Costner is dispatched by the army to a fort on the frontier at the time that has no other men there. He encounters a group of Indians called the Sioux and learns their language and culture.

get smart- enjoyed it, alot of funny stuff in it, I was a big fan of tv show re-runs in the 80's and early 90's so I do wish it was a bit more like the show but overall enjoyed the film.
 
the happening- idk, strangest movie I have ever seen, I can't figure out if I hated it, liked it, guess I am just confused at the film makers intent and can't decide on it.
 
There will be blood- fantastic performance by daniel day lewis in this film, overall enjoyed it, very good acting, solid story, maybe not as much as I anticipated with all the top reviews and accolades for it, but overall a solid film.
 
Iron man- probably my favorite super hero movie since the good ol days, loved this movie, big downey jr fan as well always enjoy his work...
 
national treasure bk of secrets- actually enjoyed this, I liked the first one as well, I guess just the whole fake history and interesting story line in these movies entices me.
 
the great debaters- terrific film, very inspirational, great performances by whitaker and denzel.
 
10,000 BC- one of the worst movies ever made.

I will go see Get Smart or the Love Guru this weekend...probably The Love Guru because Get Smart will still be around next week..the Love Guru may not be

Leaving Las Vegas-  sort of. pretty decent movie, all dialogue basically between cage and shue but a pretty good movie..a little too long but  i guess a 6or 7 out of 10

 

The Brothers Solomon...went in to this thinking itwas going to be the worst movie ever so i guess when it wasnt i was actually entertained for 90 minutes.  some funny moments nothing great but i did laugh .

Get Smart... was going to see the Love Guru and the theater had no AC so i walked into Get Smart which was about to begin. Some funny moments, not enough of them though.  I enjoyed looking at ann hathaway but other than that nothing really good about the movie.
