I watched some B Movie last night, it was called "Hunted by night"
Not a bad movie, a few parts insulted my intelligence, but hey it was a low budget flick, John Stamos on steroids is in this movie. lol.

Kill the Irishman - it's a great story, but the movie wasn't particularly well executed. Still, the story itself is worth the watch. It's one of those things where truth really is stranger than fiction; and, for those of us who have spent time in Cleveland, it's interesting to see all of those legendary events played out on film.
The Redemption of General Butt Naked - another "truth is stranger than fiction" film, this time set in Liberia. It's basically a documentary of Mr. Butt Naked going around to people who he's maimed, or the loved ones of people he's killed, and asking for forgiveness. It's not an esay watch, and I'm not really sure what we're supposed to take away from it, but it's an amazing look into that country's horrific civil war.
Iron Man I and II - not usually my sort of thing, but I could watch Robert Downey, Jr, read the phone book. In all, not bad, and there's a fair amount of eye candy to keep you enteretained between things blowing up.

Batbabe: The Dark Nightie (2009) low budget porn with mostly skanky broads BUT had some VERY funny sight gags and lines with "The Jerker" who steals all the porn in "Bacchum City". the "suckin & fuckin" scenes are pretty much "fast forward" soft porn
Rango (2011) cartoon "Clint Eastwood High Plains Drifter style" western with Johnny Depp as the voice of Rango playing the part in his Hunter Thompson Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas mumbling voice. was OK BUT nothing special. definately NOT as much fun (or as well made) as Rio

Kill the Irishman - it's a great story, but the movie wasn't particularly well executed.
IS a GREAT story of Cleveland Irish mob boss Danny Greene who took on the Italian Mafia after they crossed him BUT I thought it was REALLY well acted by Ray Stevenson as Greene, Christopher Walken, Val Kilmer, Tony Lo Bianco and Paul Sorvino when I saw it.

Rink,
The acting is quite good, though I'm not sure Stevenson quite captured Green's unique charisma. You get the feeling they shot about a four-hour movie and then cut it down to 2:15, without really figuring out what fit where. Charecters and plot lines seem to pop up, and then disappear. Relationships are hinted at, but then never explained. It strikes me as a good movie that could have been a great movie, but just isn't. I used to work for a guy who was a good friend of Shonder Berns, so it had some special relevence for me.

The Conspirator (2010) excellent but underappreciated historic movie about the aftermath of the Lincoln assassination with the emphasis on the military trial of Mary Surratt. VERY well acted by Robin Wright as Mary Surratt, James McAvoy as her lawyer Frederick Aiken and the rest of the cast. too bad it was pretty much a box office failure because both the wife and I enjoyed it as much as "The King's Speech". WAY UNDERRATED.
I, Robot (2004) had seen it years ago and forgot what an excellent SciFi action movie it is. pretty much constant action and interesting plot. definately worth watching esp IF your a SciFi or Will Smith fan
btw, I recorded Kill the Irishman last night and am going to watch again because I haven't seen it for awhile.

If/when you watch, I ask you to consider the following:
1. They introduce a strong and potentially interesting wife character, but then we see nothing of the home life.
2. The scene with the Hell's Angels (they aren't identified as such, but that's who they were) - it's kind of interesting, but it doesn't connect to anything else.
3. The "pal" he has to bail out of his gambling debt (and who, of course, resurfaces later) - who the hell is he?
4. How does he go from asking Berns for a job to basically being his right-hand guy? I guess there are a couple of scenes that hint at it, but it's a pretty freaking meteoric rise.
5. I'll bet Val Kilmer's role was originally larger. As it is, it seems meaningless to add this made-up character who really doesn't do much of anything.
Oh well, back to work.
