The Professional (1994) is one of my all time favorite crime-action movies which stars Jean Reno and Gary Oldman and features the film debut of young Natalie Portman. I think most everyone has seen this movie at least once BUT it is one I can watch again and again and STILL be entertained. I seriously believe that young Portman should have had a Best Actor Oscar nomination as she is better in this movie than Tatum O'Neal was in Paper Moon. also Gary Oldman as the corrupt and murderous DEA agent Stansfield deserved a Best Supporting Actor nomination as his character is on most "Best Villains" lists in Hollywood. plays on HD Net movies again Tuesday July 26th @ 9:15am, Wednesday the 27th @ 4:55am & Thursday the 28th @ 1:00pm pacific times IF you want to view or record. I like HD Net because they usually show their movies in full theater 2X1 perspective. I obviously rate this

The Drop (2014) another crime-action mystery set in Boston that is famous for being the great James Gandolfini's last movie roll as "Cousin Marv" the bar owner. also stars Tom Hardy as Bob the bartender and Noomi Rapace as Bob's love interest Nadia with relatively unknown Matthias Schoenaerts as a really nasty villain, Eric Deeds. NOT a lot of "slam-bang" action in this one BUT has an interesting plot and a pretty fast pace thru it's 1 hour 45 minutes. plays again on Cinemax channels Tuesday July 26th, Wednesday the 27th and Friday the 29th. I rate it of four
