a concert in MSG is great shit, the sound there is incredible. if there is any chance to go to a show there, you gotta go.
I can imagine. I saw a Rangers game there as a kid back in the 70's. The Key Arena in Seattle is very good for concerts as well. I much prefer it to shows they hold in the Tacoma Dome.
I'm hoping GM Place is a good venue. I won't have near as good of seats for this show as I did in Seattle but I'll still be pretty close to the stage...........about even with the front of the stage & 12 rows up on the right hand side..............should have a birds-eye view of the gal singing "Great Gig in the Sky".

MUGG, The Shark Club is a pretty lively spot. It's located below the Sandman Hotel on Robson St. which is a 5 minute walk to GM Place. Hot waitresses in short skirts.
See you on the Dark Side of The Moon

Looks like it's just around the corner.............great. Thanks again. I haven't been up for about 10 years & don't remember much about the area. Is Outlaws still open? I remember them having a metal band upstairs & a new wave downstairs............hell, I don't even remember where that was.

I've never heard of Outlaws. Of course, there are quite a few joints around with live music. You'll find a ton of good spots without having to stray too far from your hotel. FYI....several bars stay open and serve liquor until 4 AM.

One of the best concerts I've been to was seeing them in Berlin Germany in 1988 (?). I didn't really know much about them, but my friend took me to the concert. WOW. I was a fan since that day.

Got up to Vancouver around 3:30 yesterday & got a bite to eat, then hung out & drank a bit. I wore an old PF shirt with a prism & the words "73 tour" & it got a lot of looks & comments. The gal I was with was surprised with the all the attention. Lot of excitement in the air. Had a good time in pre-concert action. Another excellent show. If I'd had the same floor seats for this show
that I had in Seattle it would've been just that much better, but the
seats in GM Place are nicer than the Key.........padded with
cupholders............& it's nice to be able to take a beer to your
seat. Sure enough, our seats were about even with the front of the stage on the right, sec 104, row 12..........on the aisle.......not bad at all. Pretty damn close actually. BUT...............I should've been more patient. I could've gotten row 10 floor seats on Stubhub for about $400. The bad thing about where we were sitting was we were "outside" the surround sound. While the sound was still good, you couldn't get the effects in those seats............all the guitar solos were on the opposite side of the stage from us. I would recommend that anyone going to this show try for seats in the row 5-20 range on the floor. On the plus side, Roger does a great job of not forgetting about those of us in the seats off to the side. He walks from side to side & jams with the folks on the sides of the stage. I think I've got some pretty good shots/videos. Haven't drained my camera yet so I can't be sure. He opened with "In the flesh" again but then changed up a bit & went to "Mother". Still played most of the same set, just rearranged it a bit. (Didn't play "It's a Miracle") This is only the 2nd time I've heard "Leaving Beirut" but it's growing on me............good song. Andy F-L does a great job on that song. And fuck whoever said Roger is "too political". Some idiot has been running his mouth on several sites claiming people were getting up & leaving during this song.........WRONG, DIPSHIT........I made a point of looking around during that song & found that people were captivated by it. Nobody left............& there was never any political discussion. Roger tells how & why he got the inspiration to write the song before he plays it..........takes about 15 seconds. Closed out the encore with "Comfortably numb" again..........classic. I thought for a moment that the raucous crowd might be able to get a 2nd encore out of them but the roadies were too quick to act. Great time...........I had some reservations about spending the dough to see a show for the 2nd time but seeing the look on my lady friends face during the show was priceless (she's never seen PF or Waters before).............It was a great move, seeing as how this very well could be it for RW............I'd go again if I could.............& thanks to those on the smoking deck who rescued me from my bud-lessness during the break. Almost turned my head into a hat rack. You Canucks are good people.
Now I'm off for a little nap..............kind of over did it after the show.
