That might be the most puzzling question of them all. What a waste of talent. Guy Pierce could have really had a positive impact on this movie if he wasn't playing some tiny, obsure role. Shit he looked like Johnny Knoxville in one of the Jack ass movies.
read there was about 30 minutes that was cut from the final movie and a bunch of that was supposedly Guy Pearce as a young Peter Weyland. I get the feeling that the DVD, which is supposed to coming out in October, is going to be like the 2001 "Redux" was to "Apocalypse Now". the added footage in that movie cleared up a LOT of questions from the original 1979 release.
Scott stated that the home release would feature an extended cut of the film featuring an additional 20 minutes of footage and up to 30 minutes of deleted scenes. probably be a lot of "Oh THAT'S WHY that HAPPENED"

1) Opening seen. What the fuck? Is it earth? Is he creating life on earth with his dna or destroying it?
2) Was Cpt Vickers indeed a robot (if not, what a shitty "death scene"
3) Is that supposed to be the queen Alien at the end?
4) The space jockey didnt die in his chair, does that mean that isnt the same ship as the beginning of Alien?
Many more questions, just cant think of them right now. Overall, it was ok. Way too many questions and very few great scenes. The c section was pretty nice. Weyland simply being pushed over and dying was stupid. Why did the "engineer" wake up after being out so long and just wanna kill everyone. Why were they creating that stuff to kill presumably us? What were they running from in the hologram. Why the fuck would the "researchers" try and touch that snake thing? Shit, I wouldnt do that in my backyard let alone in outer fucking space......
Kinda pisses me off Scott had so long to make this movie and left so much shit up in the air....coulda been an epic movie. As of now its a C in my book.

ref that read there was about 30 minutes that was cut from the final movie which is supposed to be restored in the DVD due to be released in October. I have a feeling it will be a lot like when Francis Ford Coppola released the 2001 "Redux" of his 1979 Apocalypse Now. the 49 minutes of added footage answered a LOT of questions from the original.
as for Why the fuck would the "researchers" try and touch that snake thing? I think that was supposed to be the movie's "the 'facehugger' jumps on Cain" in the original Alien "startle" moment
Was Cpt (?) Vickers (Charlize Theron's character) indeed a robot (if not, what a shitty "death scene"
the Prometheus (film) Wiki page Meredith Vickers cast description questions that also BUT I don't think so only because she has a personal automatic "emergency room" in her quarters AND it's implied she has sex with Captain Janek near the end of the movie. I'm pretty sure she's just 100% controlling human bitch.
