went to see it this morning. after the 1st 30 minutes i was thinking but after that it picked up and I really enjoyed it. Depp was excellent, Bale also. I found it to be enjoyable. They played around with the facts and things like that but as far as just going to watch an enjoyable movie I think I did. probably like a 7-8 out of 10

OH WTF! I just went to go see it opening yesterday night and was gonna go tell people not to waste any, I repeat, any time watching this.
It is beyond . So unbelievably bad. Accent was way too hard to get a hold of and I'm sure more than half of the audience did not understand the dialogue most of the time. Camera work is horrendous to say the least. This might have been a bad copy of the film but the image quality was extremely dark and out of focus. I feel bad for the actors cause they did offer some great performances. Too bad the facts were so damn boring and so far from reality that it made plot development impossible. Also, how much time were these guys shooting machine guns. Come on, a couple of scenes is cool and fun but shit, way too much gun action.
Fuck Hollywood and their great 2 minute trailers that make you want to watch a movie before knowing what it's about. I feel violated after having watched this for 2 hours and a 1/2. Saw a lot of people walk out and I won't be surprised to hear bad reviews come out soon enough. Although, to be fair, the movie has a great rating so far on IMDB so I might have completely missed the essence of the movie. Huge fan of gangster/crime movies but this one was a big .
Go figure, I've downloaded pretty much every good major movie that has come out in the last 5 years but I actually paid to go see this one. Bummer.

Funny thing is the same happened in the room I was in. Someone got up and asked if the rest of us thought the audio was shitty and we agreed. Thought it was the sound system until a guy working for the cinema said something about the film being made that way.

i didnt even notice the "camera stuff" other people keep mentioning it
i could see how people didnt like it. If you didnt like it you didnt "miss something" you just didnt like it. I just thought it picked up after the 1st 30 mins, which i was bored by, and I liked it

Did you know a lot about the Dillinger story? I think this is the difference between us. I thought that watching this movie would get me to discover the guy as I had never heard of him before.
But, after being bored to death, I found out what I needed to know on Wiki and was interested by simply reading the bio. Perhaps people who knew the story before hand could appreciate how the movie was made and how the characters/story was portrayed.

Didn't really notice the sound, was too busy trying to stay awake the first half of the movie. Then they go the other extreme and overdo the tommy gun stuff later on. This movie should've been good, but wasn't, it was missing something. I thought Depp wasn't very good either.

I thought the sound was low at the beginning and thought it was the theater I was in but I guess it wasn't
I was not really familiar with the Dillinger story going in. Apparently Mann played with the facts a lot. I also went online after it to look up different things.
Atleast next week we will all agree on Bruno being funny...I hope

It was extremely boring. No real background into Dillinger, way too much of a boring love story, and the audio was brutal. Voices got louder and quieter every now and then. Terribly done. The story took you into many directions and was just poorly put together. Should have been alot better, since the story writes itself.
