This is the best “mockumentary” that I have ever seen (although Spinal Tap is pretty damn good too) and is a philosophical political satire. From the insightful script to the uproarious songs (written by Tim Robbins’ brother David), to the exceptional acting (look for a young and hilarious Jack Black as an almost neo-Nazi possessed Roberts groupie) this is a MUST SEE for all. It is subtle and mirthful and would be a great choice for a political science teacher to show in class as an example of the way in which our political system works together with the media to fool us on a daily basis. The comedy of this is well balanced by the sad fate that often awaits those who try and expose said corruption. Gore Vidal, a true American hero, also plays a role as one of the only voices of reason in this ingenious lampoon. Check it out.
