(Five out of Five Stars)
This is simply one of the finest films that I have ever seen. The writing is fantastic, the acting is dead on (P.S.Hoffman is at his best), and the film explores the grand façade that we all live within… will this make some “uncomfortable”? Yes. My advice to them is “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” and maybe rent “You’ve Got Mail” or “ “Sleepless In Seattle”. There is nothing wrong with looking to comedies for pure escapist entertainment and if you are in the mood for that then by all means AVOID THIS FILM! This is a comedy that makes you reevaluate your surrounding pretense of Happiness and think that, below the surface, we are all still a bit animal no matter how we try and feel like the elite species. You must be very humble and open minded to appreciate the intricacies of this comedy… and, if you like it, may I recommend “Swimming With Sharks” “Welcome To The Dollhouse”, “Palindromes” and “American Beauty” because you must be the type that doesn’t mind a bit of the reality of cynicism in your humorous escape. Keep Thinking… Keep Feeling…
