First off, I want to give thanks to YoungOne for encouraging me to see this.
For those who have wondered why I post so much in the movie forum, and even given me shit for doing so, this is why. If I like or hate a film, I can get advice from other film lovers and might just end up seeing a great flick like this that I may otherwise not have seen.

Primer
(Four and a Half out of Five Stars)
So, we have all seen the “time travel” movie before, right? However, what we have here is an intelligent, almost totally believable and existential version of the classic time travel flick. On top of that, the acting, writing and directing, all of which seem to come out of nowhere for me as I have never heard of Shane Carruth before this, are all entirely authentic, moody and unique. This is an exceptionally well-done experiment in the space-time continuum that works on every level. Primer is intellectual, yet artistic in its exhibit and a thoughtful delight of satisfying curiosity for the viewer. If you liked eXistenZ, The Matrix, A Scanner Darkly, The Fountain, Requim for a Dream (as YoundOne pointed out), any Hitchcock or old Twilight Zone etc., you are likely to appreciate Primer. I can give it this: in many ways, this is the most realistic and still fantastic science fiction flick that I have seen since Kubrick’s masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey. That is to say that, much like Kubrick, Carruth seems to make every effort to work beyond the realm of science fiction and blend reality enough to produce philosophy. Who is this Shane Carruth? It is amazing to me that a story this intricate can be told so fittingly in less than an hour and fifteen minutes. But it is nice that it is short, because it may require at least two viewings to really feel its impact. Primer is a colossal accomplishment in film. If for no other reason it reminds us that the first impression matters less than the last, “because what the world remembers, the actuality, the last revision, is what counts, apparently.”
Think about that logic… and just try and argue.

ahah you saw it! very glad you liked it. make sure you note, however, that this is not everyones cup of tea. if your favorite movies include the ones you listed, then yes, definately see it. however, if your favorite movies are those that star rob schnieder or david spade or are those kind of films that would be directed by brett ratner or michael bay, then this is definately not the movie for you.
this movie is truly awesome and mind-boggling.
