So who is enjoying this epic season of Lost?

epic MELTDOWN  ... wtf is going on

I keep asking myself why I'm watching at least 10-15 times an episode. Everything has gone to shit. The acting especially.

This is perhaps the best season ever of Lost, if you don't like this season, don't know how you even started to like the show in the first place.  What do you want the show to be?

I used to be the biggest lost fan around......I lost interest towards the end of the last season with the whole moving the island shit. Watched the first ep of this season and gave up. Is it really worth getting back in to? Shit seemed to nutty to me like the writers don't even know where there going with things anymore.

Exactly. Thats what I was gonna say.

Best season yet? Wow, I know huge fans that would never say such a thing. But, as for why I can't stand it anymore, I'm not into science fiction so this is too much for me now. And, another major reason is the back-and-forth crap. In previous seasons, they kept the storyline moving forward with a couple of individual flashback to develop the characters. Now, they are going all over the place.

You're not a fan of Sci-Fi?  Lost has always been a Sci-Fi show.  Like I said, how did you ever get into the show in the first place.
 
You don't like the flash forwards?  Wow, that was a brilliant addition to the show.
 
So you stopped watching the show because they moved the Island?  You never wanted to know why?  How?  Just thought the idea was too big and gave up a show after 3 years over a couple episodes?  Pffft OK.

Come on , are you a producer or something getting upset that I won't be watching anymore .

Seriously though, I would not agree that the show had always been sci-fi. Give me specific examples in the first season. I don't remember exactly when the black smoke "monster"  (talk about crazy shit) made it's first appearance but let's ignore this aspect of the show. I still remember the great eppisodes when they discover the numbers or Dharma initiative but that doesn't make it a full blown sci-fi show.

 As the show started it was all about survival and group psychology. Who cares if other people are wandering in the jungle, that does not make it sci-fi.  Having bright light flashes 10 times during an eppisode and going back and forth 5 times in a 40 minute eppisode did in fact not make me want to know how and why all this shit is happening. That doesn't mean I won't try to find out but like I said, the sci-fi aspect of the show has become too predominant for me to enjoy the show like I used to.

People think too much about the show. Just watch it and relax. I hate theory boards and all that....f*ck, it's a TV show.

I have been watching from day and while i dont think this is the best season, it is still amazing. Even though it may seemed out there in terms of time travel, the way the writers approached leaving the island and returning was great. With the addition of these flashes, it now gives us a perfect way to understand everything about the island and more about it's history. I don't understand how somebody can watch all the seasons and then get to this season and stop liking it. Just my opinion.

OK , I'll give you that. But, my point is I'm not thrilled with the way these questions are being answered to the point where I no longer care how this whole mess is gonna unfold. Perhaps the announcement that it was gonna end soon made everyone involved want to tie it up quicker than expected. Nonetheless, I don't want to insult the Lost fan club here. It's just gotten to the point where I'd rather read about the finale the day after than watch everything up to that point.

On a side note, don't you people consider the acting to be sub-par this season in comparison to what we got to see previously? Nothing seems believable right now the way they portray it on screen.

I really hope you guys didn't stop watching because the rest of the season is going to be so sick. I don't want to ruin it but now that they are all back on the island, we will now be able to progress toward the end goal of the island

i am a huge fan too.  this season definitely has divided the viewers...some ppl love it some hate it



i agree with eli 100%  i understand it was a sci fi show all along, but it wasnt crazy sci-fi...more like mysterious sci-fi.  now the whole time travel thing is such a prominent part of the show..i am not sure if I like it.

I watched too much of the series to stop now, and I am interested in getting answers, but i am not as enthusiastic about it anymore.  season 4 was amazing

I think a lot of people are frustrated with Lost (among other reasons) because the producers/creators said they would keep the show within the realistic realm of the believable.  When they introduced the smoke monster, time travel, the idea of moving the island, ect.. it turned a lot of people off.  That is not to say that all these occurrences are not within the realms of science.  However, I think its fair to say that some of the ideas expressed in the show are indeed a little far fetched and stretching the truth.  I'm willing to keep an open mind to the many possible undiscovered wonders of the world.

I think Lost is similar to Fringe (another series JJ Abrams is involved in) in terms of the far fetched ideas.  Both shows treat these far fetched ideas as though they are well within the realms of reality and can be explained scientifically.  Whether it be the smoke monster in Lost or the countless supernatural-like occurences that ocucur on Fringe.

I had mixed feelings about this season of lost up until about 3-4 episodes ago.

Everything is starting to come together and the rest of the season should be some of the best episodes yet, IMO.

Hmmm , things are clearing up somewhat right now which is great. Still having trouble with the time travel shit but otherwise, the season is not bad at all.

Let me rephrase that. Not confused really. But, that's the aspect of the show that is the least appealing to me since it's overly "science-fiction" genre. That being said, I'll gladly stick around to see how they are gonna end the show.
