I still love this show. I like it more than the Sopranos.
Katie Segal as Gemma is knocking it out of the park. The guy from NYPD who plays Nero is doing a really nice job too. The Jax guy is a bit of an overactor but that is nothing new.
Tara is being a real ccunt. They have her pretending to be a boy in this season. I think she actually has a bowl cut.
Shit is about to go down. I really liked last nite's episode.
Anybody else watching. I think this is about as good a replacement for Breaking Bad as you could expect.

I watched the first two seasons and stopped after a few episodes season 3. Every episode something horrific happens. How can something really bad happen every episode. The season where his kid was kidnapped was a silly story line. Too many holes with the plot.

Season 3 finale might be the best episode of any show ever.
For those following the show and watched it this week..Is that homeless chick a ghost or wtf? (The "dead" mother of the girl who threw the wrench thru the window and was shown going thru the garbage.)
She's the same woman that Jax has seen a few times over the years, starting in the cemetary in season 1(?)

That is strange. I didn't really think about the trash lady. I usually drink during this show, so some of those little details are lost on me. Gonna do some research on google.

Here is the best explanation I found. It looks like it is from a women too. Oddly, a decent amount of women watch this show too.
"The homeless girl has been in like 4 other episodes from season one to
now. -She was in the cemetery on the season finale of season one - she
covered Jax up with a blanket & later told Jax where the water
fountain was to clean up. She was in Season two - Gemma gave her money
outside a store - she said "Able will save my boys" and when Gemma asked
her what she said she replied " able to save my boys" - and that same
season in another episode she was at the church when Gemma went to talk
to Unser- Gemma even asks her "haven't I seen you before" and she
replied "everyone always sees me" (something along those lines) she was
also in Season 3 in Belfast and the "adoptive parents" (the dad) of Able
gave her money as they were walking down the street. Kurt Sutter said
her appearence has significance.....so who knows what it means or when
we'll find out. All I can put together is that she is always the same
place Able is or somewhere taking care of Jax & when she is around
something good always comes of the screwed up situation taking place."

We found out this week who she is, she died in the same pile up that Jax's dad did..I guess she's like a guardian angel. Whatever..Great show, but also one of the most repetitive.

I have one small complaint. Though I like the extended episodes, sometimes they don't have enough material for it. Like tonight's episode, it should've ended after the fireworks but there was and extra 15 minutes that was really unnecessary.
Still loving the show though.

Watched the the 1st,2nd and some of the 3rd when it started out then stopped. Watched them all again and caught up with everything.
Glad I did, didn't like the show that much that's why I stopped watching to begin with but its not bad. It somehow keeps you hooked in and wanted more. Cant wait to see how the end of this season unfolds.

but will jax be forced into corner locked up. cops have him surrounded and he had already admitted to a crime and was ready to turn himself in at that exact time....

Jax had a deal but now that tara is dead he will back out since they don't have proof or Juice will show his loyalty and take the fall to save jaxs and gemma.
I think it comes down to jaxs genna and Nero in a room and gemma has to make a choice and this time kills her son instead of her man dieing like always.

Overall, I really like Sons. Seasons 1 and 2 were great TV shows, but I thought season 3 really pushed the "reality" factor so far that it went(IMO) from a real deal kind of show to a guilty pleasure type of show(it just got so far out there and I hated the Ireland arc). Season 4 rebounded very strongly though and season 5 was a masterful season of TV.
This latest season took a big step back though IMO. Not bad by any means, but I think some of it was the long episodes. I don't mind maybe the opener, mid season big ep, and maybe the finale being 1.5 hours, but EVERY episode?? It was a bit of a grind for me. It wasnt all bad as the extra character development paid off later on with some great scenes, but overall I just thought this last season just sort of plodded along and plodded along a little too much. As for the finale, most people said it was a snoozer until the "Tara" scene, but I thought there was a lot of good stuff dialogue wise. Jax and Tara. Jax and TIME TO GET GANGSTA district attorney. Nero saying to Jax as his voice cracked DONT LIE TO ME TWICE. Nero panicking and trying to get away from it all with Gemma.
Then the big scene I'm kind of mixed on. I get why it happened, but I just thought there were a few too many "TV" BS coincidences to lead to that. All shows are guilty of that even the great ones, but I didnt like how things broke down which led to the kitchen scene. It still rocked me seeing that though. Pretty wild.
Overall, loving Sons still and the last season should be a good one. Hopefully the episides are 1 hour and not 91 minutes every week.
