Steven Spielberg's Lincoln (2012) FINALLY premiers on a premium movie channel Saturday Sept 28th @ 5:00 pm pacific time. GREAT movie with D-D Lewis as Lincoln (Best Actor Oscar), Sally Field as Mary Todd Lincoln (Best Supporting Actress nomination), David Strathairn as Secretary of State William H. Seward and Tommy Lee Jones as abolitionist Republican Congressman Thaddeus Stevens of Pennsylvania (Best Supporting Actor nomination).
I really thought after seeing this in a theater last year that it would sweep the Oscars but that was NOT to be as only D-D Lewis won. haven't seen Christoph Waltz in DjangoUnchained so will reserve judgement BUT thought Tommy Lee Jones was outstanding in his portrayal of Stevens.
after seeing Life of Pi (or "Cow Pie" or "Rhubarb Pie" or whatever that CGI mess was) ANY director NOT Ang Lee, Spielberg, Ben Affleck (Argo)or Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty),(the last two NOT even nominated by "The Academy") would have been a better selection for Best Director (Affleck won the Golden Globe)
plays this weekend and next week on Showtime premium movie channels. Saturday Sept 28th, Sunday Sept 29th, Monday Sept 30th, Wednesday Oct 2nd and Friday Oct 4th. definitely a "must see" IF your into history and enjoy excellent acting

Rat, I know I'm gonna like "Zero Dark Thirty" because I've seen it once in a movie theater and the little I could see or hear above the conversations, cell phones, and yes, children noise was good. I just have to do this at home in solitude with some Southern Comfort and me. Kinda goes that way with every movie I see at the MeglaMania-Plex.
Looking forward to seeing "Lincoln". Everything I hear sounds good.
