The Crew (2000). just happened to watch last night on STARZ and it was one of the FUNNIEST "screwball" style comedies I have seen in years, VERY fast paced with oodles of sight gags and funny lines one right after the other.
it's about four old New York "wiseguys", played by Richard Dreyfuss, Burt Reynolds, Dan Hedaya and Seymour Cassel, now living in a rundown Miami Beach retiree's hotel that is trying to "upgrade" to get a younger (and wealthier) crowd. their scheme to screw up the "takeover" leads to one screwy situation after another. Let It Ride actress Jennifer Tilly is also with Dreyfuss in this one (although 11 years older and a whole lot more porky)
IF you laughed watching Let It Ride, you will SCREAM watching The Crew. I don't think it goes over two minutes without a good bellylaugh esp early in the movie.
