I actually thought it was a pretty good movie. Bale was awesome. He played Dicky to a T. I actually think Amy Adams did I really good job as well. Whoever directed this did a great job of catching the awful trends in the 90's, clothes, cars, hair, etc. and showed how much a shithole that Lowell, Mass really is. Wahlberg wasn't bad either. Well at least he wasn't overacting in this one. I definitely recommend this movie. Sort of a Rocky meets Rudy. Good flick. Way better then The Tourist. Anyone see that ? Fuckin boring.

Yeah but if you are doing a movie about a guy and the defining part of his career/life and the reason people know who he is you would probably show it or have some of it in the movie

Now maybe with Gattis death and the situation surrounding it they couldnt use him in the movie? I wonder

Perhaps, but the thing is this movie was beyond what he ever did vs. Gatti in particular. It was more about how his boxing career almost fell apart and how he dealt with all his family issues and upbringing. With that being said, whether he fought these great fights vs Gatti or not, didn&#x27;t matter in the movie. He was an established fighter before Gatti anyways, beating Veader for a WBU title.

Nobody knows who the Louis Veader is and nobody knows what the hell the WBU is

Ward was known for being in good fights but that was about it until that trilogy with Gatti
