Great dipiction of the degenerates at a horse track...one of dreyfuss's better comedies...Jennifer Tilly bouncing around with those juggs about to fall out doesn't hurt either...agree not the best gambling movie but a good one nonetheless....whenever i go to the horse track I always think of this movie when I hear people talking all their bullshit.....have to check out 21

That was Two for the Money. Lots of truth to that movie but Lang got a big head out of it. At least he was honest in the added features where he's interviewed and admits capping is far from an imperical science...to be conservative. You can tell he knows he (and other sports play vendors) exploit customers, but stops short of admitting that on camera.
Longshot was a hoot.

The Gambler is the most underrated flick when it comes to gambling flicks and IMO the best. James Caan was in his prime as an actor in this 70's classic. The line I remember most was when Caan's mother is trying to get a bank loan to fund his gambling debt. There are some bureaucratic snafus and the bank officer isn't sure he has the proof to approve the loan to Mom. Caan says "I came out of her womb and I know she's my Mom. Now give her the god damn money!!". Now that's a true degenerate gambler.
