During my college years, i acquired a cd with this piece of music on it. It was a recording of St. Martin in the Field Orchestra performing Ralph Vaughn William's "Fantasia on a theme of Thomas Tallis." The orchestra in this clip does a pretty good version. It's 17 minutes. Sit back and turn the lights low, drink some scotch and think of someone you've lost or yearn for. It's one of the few pieces of music which brings me to tears every so often.
I recommend you not watch the video whilst listening. Close your eyes if you have to.
Pretty cool dude....You've certainly got some diversity in you.

Did you actually listen to the entire piece in between the time of your last post? You are one busy bee, I must say.
Heart was pretty cool, but the guitarist's newer solo material blows. Any time the words, sun, sweat, and sex are in the title, I tend to poo poo it. I could not stomach it. Almost seemed like a Christian album with the titles, too. One thing I can't stand is the praising of Jesus, in any form.
You post so many things at once I feel like I'm being questioned for a singles application. I'll post a background profile thread someday. As for now, I enjoy the anonymity and in due time I'll shed the cloak and reveal who I am.

Fisher just farts around and has fun sugar. He knows his time has way past......I didn't expect you to go ga ga over his goofying around with the solo stuff.....I was just wondering if you might know any of those names on his site...
A pretty cool guy. Very unpretentious humble dude and doesn't care about anything as far as thinking he's someone he's not.
OK Seattle people, anyone old enough to remember "10 Bulls". They were a decent local band in the late 80s early 90s.

In college, I had many friends who each had different musical backgrounds and tastes. One of these tastes was John Coltrane. Another was the pot. For me it played the role of matchmaker. Without it, I'm sure Miles Davis, Ornette Coleman, Sun Ra, and Johnny Hartman never would have entered my life. For this is when I first partook in drug use and in turn, first witnessed the sounds only these men could bring to life. Not to say these guys aren't great without being high, but jesus, almost everything is better when you're high, at least back then they were.

Miles Davis is one mean looking dude. Can't fuck with him or his music. In this clip, he's stretching this shit beyond what many are still trying to do today. Sometimes we get it, sometimes we don't. I thought I did, I probably didn't.
Shorter, Corea, Holland, and DeJohnette are no slouches, either.

Part of a documentary about Ornette Coleman. Just soooo great. I thought it may help explain to anybody who thinks this stuff is just a bunch of notes mashed together. Listen and let it sink in.

When Pearl Jam hit the scene I was floored. I was eighteen and had never heard anything like it. Consequently, I was sucked into the Seattle sound and wouldn't emerge until I was twenty-one.
Did you see them live? I never had the opportunity. That bust out album they had is one I never get tired of....

Slow down, D-hop. "Love Me Do" was written in 1959 and released in 1962. Not only is it a classic, but what was cooler than that in 1962? The number 1 song of 1962 was "Roses Are Red" by Bobby Vinton. "Love Me Do" is fucking acid rock compared to Bobby Vinton. The Beatles NEVER sucked. They were absolute genius from the beginning and influenced rock as much as anybody.
