I've come to the realization that there's nobody else worth listening to when you have 50 years of Dylan to choose from. The Masters of Wars lyrics got me hooked many years ago and I've pretty much listened to nothing but Dylan since.

As I sit here over my morning breakfast ,looking over the games I am smiling because someone on this site is giving Bobby Zimmerman some respect! Just for the volume of great songs he wrote The man should be revered. I have been a Dylan fan since the early 80's when he finally got over his Christian albums phase and he started writing and playing great songs again. That first tour back, he had the Stones Mick Taylor playing w/ him in Europe That was a good fit for Dylan because Taylor's leads are so fluid I saw Dylan live twice: 1985 w/ TP & the Heartbreakers backing him and 2 years later W/ The Grateful Dead backing him. Both times he was pretty damn good. Although , I have heard many people tell me they saw him and he sucked,so I guess he's a Crap Shoot. (He did a Double Bill tour with Phil Lesh & friends 7 or 8 years ago ,and I heard he was God Awful.) .
The entire " Bootleg Series" ( Different sets of previously unreleased material released over the past 20 years) is well worth checking out . I must insist you get the" Live 1966 set" with The Band backing him up. Wow ! This is my all time fave Dylan CD I find it funny people actually gave him crap for playing electric. Only Dylan I guess. Lastly unlike so many other aging rock acts, Dylan still puts out good studio releases. I love " Love and Theft " It is like a modern day " Blood On The Tracks"

I saw him on the Phil tour with a couple of the dudes from Feat backing him and he was XCELLENT!.He went on tour with Dead for strategic reasons. but of course him and Jerry were tight. The stadium gigs with the Dead were no where as good as the Phil shows. imo

I'm going to disagree on the bad singer part. He was one of the most powerful singers I've heard, and on several albums actually had legit good vocals (from "John Wesley Harding" to "Desire"). Just my very biased Bob opinion
