I'm a guitar player. Have been for quite some time and am fairly accomplished. Looking to replace a classical I've had forever but my 2 year old got to it and well....you know the rest.
I'm replacing an Ibanez classical that I absolutely loved. I'm replacing it with another Ibanez classical, but I cannot find any solid info on the guitar I'm looking into buying, except for specs. Also, I cannot find it in stores as I hear it's too new.
My question is, does anyone have any experience with this guitar and can anyone recommend it. I hate shelling out $500-$600 on something I've never played, but I do trust Ibanez classicals explicitly.
Here's a link to the guitar I am looking into buying:
I'm not good with posting links, so you may have to copy and paste it into your toolbar.
Any help is appreciated. Thanx in advance

I played several of the Ibanez Exotic Wood guitars during the past month. All of them looked real nice, but every single one had a boxy "crappy" tone to it.
These guitars are all laminate, which is not bad in itself. The different woods that Ibanez use don't sound nearly as well as laminated mahogany or rosewood. That, or it could be the veneers, or possibly the process itself. All I know is that the Ibanez EW guitars look great, but sound pretty awful.
They just don't make acoustic guitars as well as their electrics and basses.

Thanks man. I saw that this one had a wood backing as opposed to the laminate. The one I've had for years has a laminate backing. I didn't think the wood backing would hinder the sound, but I guess it does. I really appreciate the help

Reading your post, I'm not gonna buy it without playing it first. I appreciate all the help. I have some friends who work at Sam Ash in New York and they said they expect it in house in the next month or so, so I'll probably take a road trip.

im into solid bodies myself ...i wouldent be the guy to ask about the classical stuff.......but i have seen many new guitars today that are built for looks with veneers and such......i guess you have to hear the guitar for yourself and use your ears to make the right chioce.

Yeah bro, been playing for about 15 years. Back in college I put together a band that actually got signed for a bit, but nothing ever came from it. No album, deal fell through, etc.
Now I just play for fun. I've got multiple guitars, usually stick to my Les Paul for gigs. The classical is great to have around the house. I love trying to teach my daughter on the classical, b/c the nylon strings are easy on her fingers. Of course, letting her play with it is how I messed up the last one, hence the need for this thread

I loved playing, but when my daughter was born I gave up the lifestyle. Too much traveling, too much practicing, and it wasnt gonna make me enough $ to feed my family. If it were my job, like a 9-5 thing then I might dig it, but that lifestyle isnt for me any more. Regardless I love playing, and I love jamming with friends. That's never gonna change. You should move down here, become a Caps fan, and we can jam
