They have a few new tracks of the upcoming album on their website, I thought one was good, another not too bad and might be good, and a 3rd reminded me of the garbage from St. Anger.  They went back to normal tuning from what I can tell from a couple of these songs, so it sounds more like them instead of that detuned shit they were doing.

I heard they were getting back to their roots, so to speak, but I haven&#x27;t listened to any of the new stuff yet. In any case, they have played enough of the old stuff in all their shows that I have seen to make it worthwhile.

Their last several tours they&#x27;ve played nothing but old stuff.  I saw them in Denver a few years ago at the Pepsi Center, it was awesome to say the least.  &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;I&#x27;ve seen a lot of live music, hundreds of concerts to tell you the truth.  And I rank Metallica up there as thee number one heavy/rock/metal show to see.  The power and energy at one of their concerts is unreal.

metallica is awesome but i had resigned to the fact they wouldnt come out with anything that could compare to their first five albums. but this one has some pretty sweet songs imo. doesnt quite compare to the first five but pretty damn close. when i bought the album, looked at how long the songs were (most of em at least 6 minutes) i knew things were looking up. I enjoy it. I dont listen to every song on the album like i do with puppets lightning kill em all and justice but there are a couple gems.
