Multiple genre 5 favorite artists

I'm relatively new here and usually just post angry rebuttals in the general or politics forums, but here's an original thread from the ape.....in no particular order...

Hip hop- Wu tang and myriad affiliates, immortal technique, tupac, jedi mind tricks, last emperor

Old school rock- Dylan, the dead, the stones, the doors, hendrix

Punk- Bad Religion, pennywise, minor threat, the adolescents, old guttermouth

reggae- bob and tosh, the congos, dennis brown, black uhuru, scratch perry

Metal- cannibal corpse, death, old metallica, pantera, morbid angel

Other esoteric/misc shit- phil ochs, coltrane, buddy guy, pink floyyd, miles davis, your person fucking mothers!

Man, I thought I had a wide taste in music.  Looks like some pretty obscure artists in there.

Here are mine:

Rock: Beatles,Stones, Doors, Floyd & Led Zeppelin

Punk: The Clash, Ramones, X, Sex Pistols & Green Day

Alternative: U2, Elvis Costello, The Police, Talking Heads & Depeche Mode

True, some bands do defy any attempt to pigeonhole them in a particular genre, but i'm certain that dylan and the dead will forgive my oversight.  As for "not liking them that much", i assure you that you are mistaken- dylan is pretty much my favorite artist.  Thanks for posting your list Jimmang- that's more what i was trying to get going with this thread, but it looks like this forum is pretty sparsely populated.
