Anyways, Kurt was a very disturbed man, with many demons & a troubled childhood. But his music was so cutting edge, it still amazes me today. Nirvana, along with bands like Soundgarden, Meat Puppets...if they had not been around in the early 90s, music today would be vastly different.
The lyrics alone astound me. I would reccomend everyone read "Heavier than Heaven" - it's a biography of Kurt Cobain and my jaw dropped constantly when reading it. When the movie is released with the same premise, it will hopefully stay along with the book because it's a story that truly does deserve being told.
On a side note, Dave Grohl doesn't get as much credit as he deserves too. The drummer for Nirvana, lead singer/guitarist for Foo Figters...truly remarkable.

I agree..........bands like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden helped bridge the gap from classic rock to new rock (or Grunge if you will)for me. Unfortunately, they had no longevity, & now there is very little left out there for me, rock-wise.

I agree with Syracuse, all those bands got plenty of credit and exposure back then and still get credit if that era is talked about. Since singers are dead in two of the bands and another broke up, it's kind of hard for those bands to extend their longevity.

I remember when they played for the first time on Saturday Night Live. Blew my mind. The way Cobain looked and Groul's nuclear drumming. Wow. I was a fan from that point on.

If you like Nirvana, you have to read Heavier than Heaven - they go in to great detail about many things including the above SNL performance and the music awards where they opened up the show with 20 seconds of Rape ME then blew in to another song - very interesting stuff

i was moved by his words...... so much so..i quit working at a coal mine($89,000 per year). and began to study guitar and music therory.. now many years later im a working guitarist....unbelievable! all because of one or two words he muttered on a documentary.

Good for you bro - I'm always jealous when I hear stories like these. I've always played the drums - but never really put together a band.

* Ordering thousands of kittens to be dispersed among the crowd of the concert and suggesting to the kids to do what they want with them. They were all torn to pieces. When he did this kind of thing in Wisconsin, it took them half a week to clean the venue. He is prohibited from entering the state, along with several others, ever again.
* Groping his band members on stage and oftentimes simulating blowjobs on stage.
* Burning the Bible, etc, etc.
Unless you are a Satanist or a person with no interest for public order and good taste, then you have to denounce acts like this.
