REO's "Hi Infidelity" is underrated....

 I know it got the shit played out of it in the 80's, but it's a great album......maybe one of the best of all time.........

 For those experiencing a "heartache", the last track is just what the Dr. ordered..............great stuff

 I saw them about 15 years ago at The Gorge in George,WA with Peter Frampton & Foreigner...............it was the 1st time I ever saw Cronin with short hair...........great show.

REO Speedwagon is one of those bands I could just never get into.  I think it was Kevin Cronin's voice.  Even back in 1980 when they were really popular and I was only 13, every time I heard his voice I wanted to grab him by the throat.  But hey, that's just me.  They are great musicians and Richrath is a 1st class guitarist.  I think the only tune I liked was "Riding the Storm Out."  Glad you guys enjoy them though.

That wasn't embarrassing. I was also listening to Zappa.....Songs like Dynamo Hum, and at that age not having any clue what the lyrics meant, but the music was great. Thank goodness my Mom didn't know either. ( but lucky about it )

Someone has to explain how anyone (me and my friends) can smoke pot and play Zeppelin, Joe Walsh, Rundgren, Yes, and fit Bee Gees in there. I'll rationalize it away by saying we only listened to the f#g Bee Gees because it was being played over and over on car radios, and we didn't ever actually own that crap. We played the cool shit in friend's basement's where we could smoke pot and not be disturbed by stupid things like rules against drinking beer and smoking marijuana at age 15.

I would play Barry Manilow (pre-weed days) on the radio, and not change the channel mid seventies.........

Henry, Chicago was one of those other semi cool 70s bands that was halfway cool, some decent tunes, then they just got completely  in the early 80s

........all poster children of 70s bands that just were lost ships at sea flying rainbow flags on their masts....... 


I felt really sorry for Styx guitarist Tommie Shaw who just fricking rocked, and teamed up a little later with Nugent in Damn Yankees to salvage something from the stench of hanging around Dennis De Young .....the biggest ever, including G.Michael.

If you never knew ahead of time what Tom. Shaw looked like (david Spade's twin), then you wouldn't have as much trouble believing his was the strongest guitar in that band.......

You're probably right- he always looked like the kid who had yet to hit puberty- no doubt he can play-  

 Understandable..............tastes are a weird thing. I could never get into Bruce Springsteen. I liked some of his stuff but it just didn't hook me. Same with Styx (since they're being talked about here).......like some stuff; don't own any of it.

Mugg, I was the same way. I had Tix in the late 70s twice given to me for free, and I gave them away to friends who were more into him than me. I realize Springsteen's live shows were better thn the Stones, but same thing late/early 90s with Mick and his crew.

I feel much differently about Springsteen now, as far as wanting to see him live. I think I had better see he and the E Street Band before something happens to the big man, Clarence Clemons.....I think he's a little older than Bruce, and I worry about his health.......

I want to see them (Springsteen & E Street almost as badly as R.Waters).....well, not really that close, but that just illustrates how much I need to see Waters......

 I saw him about 7-8 years ago @ the Tacoma Dome............pretty good show considering that's the worst venue for a concert around here. I'm glad I saw it but it didn't give me any new-found passion for his music. Given the chance to see him at a smaller venue I would probably go see him/them again, but then, I could say that about a lot of other bands/shows.
