Dimebag Darrell Abbott (Pantera & Damageplan) 
On December 8, 2004, Abbott was shot onstage while performing with Damageplan at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio.
The gunman was Nathan Gale,[5][13] who shot Abbott eight times, including five times in the head, killing him instantly. Gale then continued shooting, killing four others and wounding a further seven.

wow, this is a fairly ignorant comment sf. you don't know who lemmy is (the guys is beyond influential) and so he does not qualify??? maybe you could have even googled him before commenting.... here, i'll give you a more appropriate response...
"although i didn't know who lemmy was, i googled him and wow he did alot for various types of hard guitar driven rock and he really does have a good name for it. yeah....lemmy"
eddie vedder - although not as flashy as sebastian bach, sting, or slash, its a pretty great rock name.
trent reznor - again, a real name, but just kinda sounds industrial. perfect for his brand.

^^ What about Nikki Sixx? That's cooler than Mick Mars. I always thought "Marilyn Manson" was a cool name, for that genre of "music", but he dropped the "Spooky Kids" part and then there's the rest of the band? Daisy Berkowitz? Twiggy Ramirez? Madonna Wayne Gacy? - now it just becomes lame....
The guy from W.A.S.P. - Blackie Lawless - now that's a cool name
"The Edge" is kind of cool - although he'll be entering retirement age soon, is Grandpa "The Edge" still rock & roll?
