Jimi was a great guitarist and way ahead of his time, so he gets major props for that. To say anyone is the greatest of all time in music is a dumb argument, since that comes down to a variety of factors and tastes. Hendrix's mastery of the electric guitar and his contribution to rock is highly respected.
Actually, the right-handed guitar was not strung right-handed (which would have meant Hendrix, being a lefty, was playing it upside down which he was not), it was strung left-handed
Look at all the vids of him on youtube. The low e-string is where it should be - on top.
He did this to get a crisper sound out of the low strings while the higher strings sounded more mellow because the frets affected the sting opposite of what they would if the guitar were strung properly and being played right-handed.
