Cup series heads to the 1.5-mile tri-oval Kentucky Speedway for the inaugural Quaker State 400 saturday night. The Nationwide Series races friday night and the Trucks give us a very rare thurday night race. Should be an awesome week of racing with every ticket sold for the Cup race. Interested to see the entry list for all these races. I know Michael Waltrip will try to qualify in his hometown for the Cup race. Not sure if he is going to race the Trucks.

Logano is going to see shorter than normal odds this week as he is one of the few Cup drivers that have turned laps at this track. Not only does he have experience but he took the pole and won the race in all three starts he's made in the Nationwide series. With Logano's current string of solid runs in the Cup series expect him to have a strong weekend.

Kyle, Carl, Brad, Joey for sure. Logano's stats are the real story. Perfect 3 poles and 3 wins.

Honestly guys, there are only like 7 drivers who have not raced on this track.  I looked over the stats last night and I was amazed at how many drivers raced Nationwide here and some of them had anywhere from 2 to 6 starts.  Plus having the open test here Thursday (weather dependent) I think that is going to be good.

Now, my boy may have the most laps there being the JGR test driver and that is a bonus.  He loves this track, posting the stats Clep stated.  But those were in the old Nationwide car BUT the testing for the JGR cup teams was in a COT.  Don't forget, he was one of the 4 drivers that did the tire test there for Goodyear so that certainly helps.  I think Kurt, Harvick and Biffle were there as well. 

So Clep is right, I think when the lines come out Joey will have his worst odds of the year.  He has some momentum built, this track is his best Nationwide statistical track, he loves this track and 1.5 milers are his favorite tracks, Loudon (his only Cup win although rain shortened) comes up next weekend and he is a New England boy, he needs to win one of these if he expects to make the chase.  He has gotten to the Top 20, now he needs a win to have a chance.

I am not saying I expect he wins but I think he is set up for it now the whole 20 team need to get it done.  I know I am expecting something strong coming into the weekend and will have something on him

Brad has 3, 3, and 4 finish in 3 career starts here.  Harvick has win and 6th in 2 career starts.  Kyle has a win, 2nd 13th and 30th here.  Carl not so great here.  In 6 career starts, 1, 2, 6, 20, 20 and 36.  I expect Biffle to be very good this weekend.  Tire test plus 10, 7, 30, 2, 2, 2 here.  Menard 32, 9, 5, 14.  Bowyer 9, 12, 3, 0.  Ragan been good here too. 

I could go on but I will let you boys look stuff up LOL

Interesting. If you include tire tests the number of unaquainted drivers is obviously much higher. That being said, It's new to everyone out there when the green flag drops saturday night.

It should be a great race. I like Kyle and Smoke as of now.
Although the Nationwide experience some have can't hurt....I don't think it'll mean much. These guys are all good and will adapt quickly. Saturday Night style Kentucky!!!!  Hell, any Saturday Night racing is awesome in my books!

considering how much Rousch has pretty much dominated the mile and a halfs, think you would have to look at them as being favs. heading into this weekend.

NASCAR drivers Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski, Travis Kvapil, Joey Logano, Mark Martin and David Reutimann became acquainted with the race conditions at Kentucky Speedway today during a Goodyear tire test held just 36 days before the 107,000-seat venue makes its Sprint Cup Series debut with the July 9 “Quaker State 400.”

Biffle and Logano, two drivers with significant NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) history at the track, broke from the one-day test’s morning session to meet with eager media to share impressions of the first new racetrack to join the 36-race Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) circuit since 2001.

Roush Fenway Racing’s Biffle earned the first NCWTS title in track history on June 17, 2000 before scoring three second-place and a total of five top-10 NNS finishes at the track in six starts from 2001 to 2007.

Edwards @ +750    .15 unit       Grabbing some now, he will contend for the win and most likely be the man to beat come Saturday Night.

Biffle @ +1300     .10 unit      Very good history here and is due to finally complete a good run, has been very dominant on cookie cutters this year, but doesn't have the lucky horseshoe up his ass like others, this may be the week, the tire test certainly helps hiim too.

Logano @ +3500    .05 unit       Really, the guy who has dominated on this track the last 3 years, you are giving me what???? I will bite and take these odds, Joey has had ZERO luck this year, probably will blow a motor or something in the 1st few laps, but way too much value to pass up, He ran the tire test here in June and knows how to get around this place....If he Q's up front, you will be seeing half of this or less come Saturday.

 

 

Logano @ +750 for Nationwide      .10 unit

guy has dominated here, 3 for his last 3, JGR hasn't quite had the results in the 20 car as they would of liked to at this point of the season, but +750 on the only winner the last 3 years here....Excellent value that will likely be gone by Friday.

Can't believe either of those lines on Joey. Put $30 at +3500 for the Cup race and $70 at +675 for the Nationwide race.

Sadler fastest in opening practice at Kentucky: #2-Elliott Sadler, driving the Hunt Brothers Pizza Chevrolet for KHI, was the fastest in the opening practice session for the UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway with a top speed of 170.789 mph. Rounding out the top ten were; #3-Austin Dillon, #7-Miguel Paludo, #13-Johnny Sauter, #8-Nelson Piquet Jr., #18-Kyle Busch, #31-James Buescher, #33-Ron Hornaday Jr., #22-Joey Coulter, #88-Matt Crafton. There were 26 trucks on track for the opening session.(7-6-2011)

didn't play any Q matchups or early matchups, was considering Biff over Edwards, but not enough + to get me on it. Did like Ragan over Menard and Truex over Reutti also...So now all 3 will probably hit since I didn't play them.
