vegasdennis-&#xD;&#xA;Was there any discussion about why he didn&#x27;t check up when the wreck started?  The guy in front of him did and it looked like he had plenty of time to get on the brakes.  He seemed like he just hit the guy in front of him at full throttle and launched.  Something doesn&#x27;t seem right to me.  The guy is world class.

I know the closing rate was insane.And I know one car in front did check up I do wonder if Dans spotter was slow in telling him.

Also some were saying a few spotters told drivers to go high but unsure who this was told to as never heard for sure.It did appear he stayed in gas the whole time

does anyone know if these indy race car guys have term life insurance, they make enough money that they wouldnt need it, but do they still insure them, since their job description is very risky?

Worst crash I ever remember. Was watching it live on TV and after hearing Paul Tracy interview had a good feeling Wheldon was going to be pronounced dead. Hell of a racer, better person with a great future in broadcasting ahead of him and still lots of racing left. Terrible tragedy, RIP.

This will lead to major changes in INDY car next season no doubt.

After watching several slow motion videos It is unreal. He looked like he was flying an airplane.&#xD;&#xA;Unbelievable how long he was airborne.

They are basically racing go karts that go 225 mph. I raced 2 cycle go karts on a dirt oval that went about 65. I remember how scary our wrecks were. I could not imagine being involved in one of those wrecks. I went to the Indy race at Texas a couple years ago and will say it was the most exciting race I have ever seen (Besides Knoxville Nationals) but I also told my old man I dont know how they dont lose more drivers going that fast and weaving in and out of each other.
